Brownies tested
October 19 turned out to be
a beantiful warm day and gave
us the chance to spend SOM?
time outside. Mrs. Knox and
Mrs:— Campion, tindkrtarne"Iti.
• help test some of our Brownies
again on the items they missed
for their Athlete Badges at the
recent Revel.
Four more ,girls were able to
earn this badgefand will receive
them soon. .They are Tammy
Ellison, Laurie Jewell, Monica
Fox and Suzanne Smith.
While this was going on, the
rest of . the Brownies were
enjoying games and singing.
There 'was only time left for
Pow Wow. Brown 'Owl told
* everyone about interest badges
and gave out some information
about how 'to earn them. No
doubt we will soon have lots of
things to look at during Pow
Wow.
PACK TWO -
An important discussion was
• held right, off the bat Friday.
We've decided to change things
around in our opening exercises
and enthusiasm for our new
plans grew right before our eyes.
We had a lot of things
planned arid one of them, we're
• proud to announce, was
awarding Toymaker badges to
" Kelly Suchard and Heather
Marshall. Work period was 'done
right after Pow Wow when the
...girls were in". a circle sitting on.
the floor. This week everyone
„) remembered their equipment
and began making their puppets.

concentration as the Brownies
• put their imaginations to. work.
There was enough _time left

for everyone to plant some
beans which they'll take home
•to care for. The BrOwnie-sare
each keeping a record of how
their Ants grow and there is a
„race to see whop,can coax their
sprouts to a height of 12.inches
first - and we'll know who has
• the Greenest Thumb among our
mini -gardeners. . ...

• Ring with Susan Bushell as our
Fairy Queen, we played a

potatoes.
Wen we divided into groups
the Tweenies learned • their
Promise and the • Brownies
" working' towards their. Golden .
Bar heard some stories of Lord
Baden Powell. Other Brownies
working towards their Golden
Hand learned the rules and how
to play ball and some also were
- learning ho y to tie a parcel and
• get it ready for mailing.

Then into Pow -Wow where
we had a Sing -song. We*,passed
the secret squeeze and then sang
Taps....and it was time to say
"Goodnight Brownies" , once
again.

Fuller, Susan Fincher and
Patricia Stamen, talked on a
nature project which they had
been part of and this was
followed • by their very nice
display of all kinds of different
nature objects which they had
gathered and had displayed on a
sheet of cardboard.
We have to thank Mrs.
Reinhart for spending an evening
with us demonstrating and
discussing "First Aid". This was
one of many such interesting'
demonstrations which are
scheduleerfor-thisiwinter.
The remainder of • the
evening was taken up with a
sing -song and "skits".
Marion Melick closed a
most enjoyable evening with
"Taps''.

activity group were recently elected to office and have assumed

A meeting of Beta Sigma Phi
was held at Victoria and -Grey
Trust Co. on Oct. 19 with eleven
members present.
The minutes of the previous
meeting were approved as read.
A letter was received from
the International, office granting
a temporary leave of absence to
Verna Kane and giving requested
information on sorority
manuals. A "motion was passed
that the club • purchase eight
copies_of the new manuals.. •
A thank -you card was.
received frOm Audrey Berider
for the going away gift.presented—
to her when she moved to,
Kitchener.
A letter re the Santa Claus
Parade on Dec. 4 was receiVed. A
committee was set up to
organize an entry for the parade.

The Lady of the Year Award
was discussed and it was decided
that this group is too small for
such an award. '
The Sorority Yardstick was
discussed and it was decided that
a cultural library be set up. This
will consist of the various

the different girls each meeting.
