Memorial hall Mr. and Mrs. Donald Haines showed colorful pictures of their month's trip to Victoria and Vancouver along with other places in British Columbia. They were thanked by Mrs. Eleanor Bradnock. Mrs. Russel Brindley introdUced Mrs. A.*McIntyre of Brussels who spoke ,on her display of home-made crafts and iecorations suitable for every occasion. Mrs. Thomas Haggitt thanked Mrs. McIntyre for her informative talk on the display. The president Mrs. Gordon Taylor was fii—airge- Of -the meeting and gave a hearty. welcome .to the members and visitors. The minutes of the previous meeting were accepted as read by the secretary Mrs. Beth Lansing. The 'financial statement was accepted as given by the 'treasurer, Mrs. Eleanor BradnOck. A smorgosbord lunch was served by Mrs. 'Ed Davies, Mrs. Robert Turner, Mrs. Eleanor .Bradnock, and Miss Sheron Collins. New sewing knack Twenty ladies met at, the Auburn Community Memorial hall on Monday to start the sewing class,The Knack with -KA:its. Anyone is welcome to join this group on Mondays at 1.30 p.m. to learn techniques of sewing with to -da s new_fabrics. This sewing cou se is provided through the H me Economies Branch of the Department of Agriculture and Food and the Auburn , Women's Institute Branch. .The sixth meeting of the Auburn 3, 4-H club Was held on Monday evening at .the home of the leader, Mrs. William Empey. The meeting spotlighted. Dairy Desserts making thorn with' milk butter ' and ' dream. CheeSe and . frozen 'desserts were also discussed --Plans were made for Achievement Day and they decided to do the derrionstiation called -Dairy Dips_ and Snacks. Everyone enjoyed the Lemon Chiffon with crumb pastry that was made. Miss Gail Miller of Toronto spent the weekend with , her parents Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Miller. Miss- Gail has just returned from a holiday .spent at Acapulco, Mexico. The sixth meeting of the Auburn Dairy"'Queenswas held at the home of, the leader, Mrs. Eleanor .Biadnock with the nresident Gail Seers in charge. After opening the meting with the 4 -FI pledge the minutes were read by Judy Van Dongen. -A discussion was 'held on Dai6' Desserts with milk, butter and cheese, , Sherry' and Wanda Plaetzer showed Lemon Chiffon which they made and everyone this; m with knits sarnpled, It The meeting was closed with the 4-H Creed. Various topics were discussed around planning meals around dairy products using white sauce, cheese and, cream. There was a cheese tray and the girls sampled the variotis varieties. Mrs. Empey demonstrated Chicken A La King and Holly Elliott and Barbara Empey served it , on toast. Everyone" also sampled ,,Nemposiomoompommoommoo. cheese Crisps. Mrs. William Clark demonstrated the making 'of cream puffs and made a delicious filling for them. Methods were discussed 'on -the makinOnd shaping of the puffs for a perfect product. Plans Were made for the completion of the book covers and also the skit for Achievement Day.
