Dear- Ann Landers: I have
read several books on ESP/. I am
positive I have it. I have
predicted .within seconds that
the doorbell will ring, and
sometimes',I know who will drop
in unexpectedly: I have' had
premonition -about bad news.
When I was in high school I
slapped a boy's face because -.I
read his. thind. He didn't
complain because I was right.
(He later admitted it.) Can you
tell me what- career I should
follow that would best enable
me to use this rare gift?••I want
to make money but I also want
to be of setvice. —.V.L,
Dear V.: I would not presume
to give advice, to a girl who can
read minds. The extent of my
ESP is that I know when the
phone is going to ring — it's
always three minutes after I get
into the bathtub.
Cut - off clause illegal
now in Ontario contracts
The "cutoff -clause" in
consumer contracts is now .illegal
in Ontario.
Legislation eliminating the
clause came ifito effect on
Monday, October 18j. Thus,
-financing agencies are no longer
permitted to take over— a
consumer contract . from a
merchant' without having
responsibility for the
performance or quality of goods.
Financial and ' Commercial
Affairs Minister ArthurWishart;
who piloted the measure

Newspaper editorials are
crying the blues, telling the

assure their readers that the
U.5. isnot out to "get" us
They might as, well, save

lovely mixed analogy; for
you to ponder over.
To carry on with the cli-
ches, •Canadians are reaping
_ what they have sown. For
several ' .generations, they
have. invited, nay, begged
foreign capital to invest in

''Another cliche. You
can't have your cake and eat

dients for the cake. But
rather than bake it' oursel-

Second, let's not bite the

Third: Let's pull in our
pelts, get off our tails, and
start competing with Indus-

In short, stop producing
shoddy merchandise 'at in-
