New Tweenies welcomed into Brownies
PACK ONE
We welcomed two more
Tweenies to' our meeting on
October '121 They, joined the
other new girls to talk about our
Promise., Law and Motto and to
practice the Brownie salute, sign,
and . . handshake_ .hey_. each
receivedl a cardboard "Brownie"
doll to color. -.As they pass their
tests, they 'will b'e able to add
items to their dolls to make
them into Brownies.
We want to thank Ann
Smith's mother for, coming to
help some of oil, girls learn the
correct way to !prepare a parcel
for mailing. Our mothers are
most helpful and this makes it
"possible for our Brownies to
continue learning new things at
the meet(ng:.
Three girls were busy with
our Packie who played anthems
on the piano ,to help, them learn
the tunes as well as the words.
When we ' gathered for Pow
Wow, •Brow -n. , Owl finished the
story' about the f'oy,
Baden-Powell and his treasured
shilling. Then it was 'time again
to say goodnight.
PACK TWO
We held our weekly
get-together in the school art
room since the skate exchange
was being held in the gym last
Friday- and the change of
location proved to 'be quite a
help to some of our forgetful
Brownies.
We -.had planned to. faun& 'a
puppet -making project . and
everyone was to bring material,
etc., to work with. Rowever, a
lot of girls did not 'remembier
their supplies and were very -
relieved that the lack -of-space--
caused us to put our lans off
for one more week
Our ever -helpful Pa kies took
all the Tweenies int the hall
and taught them the co rect way
to tie reef knot. It *on't be
very long now until they're
ready to°be enrolled.
Brownies smiles were shining
brightly all around the ring as
Linda Best received her

with the help of a cute little dog
named "Gus". Kelly also started
the Pack on another mini -afghan
for the Unitarian Services
refugee babies by handing in the
first square of knitting. We "saw
Gail Pinkney's toymaker work,
too, and received more knitting
as well.
We had time for. one game
and sortie more' reminders to
bring Tuppet making supplies
next week, before we. sang
Happy Birthday to a Tweenie
and then Taps.
