We drove to CASCAIS

boats were sitting high and dry
— very colorful. The fishing
boats were just . in ' and we
watched them unloading many
•-kinds •and •shapes of fish and
hurry them to the market
building.
, There were some -brilliant
silvery white fish about 4 to 5
feet long, sharp snouts. Couldn't
find the name but don't think
they were eels.
The market building — big,
airy and clean — was a'surprise.
Oh„ it smelled of sea water and
fish "— "•but not THAT
unpleasant.

' beautiful from above' and 1 tried

The Goderich team was led
by Stu "the basher" Asher with
three goals ,and Harold
R'efflinghaus - with two. Dave •
Graf scored -the other goal. Bob
- Schmidt and Rolf Gottschalk;
played well defensively. Paul
Howe's team played - their final ,
two regular season games ' this
week against Mitchell and here
today (Thursday) against
Stratford Central. The playoffs
start next,week.
In girls basketball, ' the
Goderich gals lost a
'doubleheader to Wingham,
22-19 iri the junior game and
32-30 in the senior, but in both
cases, the teams played well.
The juniors record is now two
ins and two losses while th

losses. `
For ' the seniors, Goderich
scores were led by • Carole
Cruichshank with 10 points,
while,. Mary Wilken had eight,
Tanya Palrner- and- Sue --Smalley,

Mickey Cruickshank led the
G.D.C,I. jilniors with • seyen
points, followed by Brenda
Brissette with five, Becky

T'ite Christian Farmers
Federation, who last week
released a statement of their
policies as they dealt. with
.vertical integration, -this week
announced that local meetings
are held at Clinton and stressed
that all farmers from throughout
the region are more than
welcome to attend. The date of
the next meeting is to be
announced shortly. •
A spokesman for the group
pointed put this week that many
feel that to become a member of
the Federation a farmer must be
a member 'of certain churches or
religious groups. Such is ,not—the
case the spokesman said," a"nd all
farmers -are invited to cone out
...and join, thus, strengthening the
group. '
'Martin .Ve:rkuyk V of
Woodstock is the provincial
chairman of the group but the
local area is represented by Art
Jongejax of Clinton • serving as
the chairman of .the local group.
Eg VanDonkersgood of, Drayton
is the provincial secretary.
• The group is particularly
concerned with the -preservation
of the' family farm as a viable
unit in the modern economics of
.agriculture and is attempting to
figut the forces of " vertical
integration.
