R. 4 Kincardine firthe groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John A. Whitten of Goderich. Given in marriage by her father, the bride w 1 a floor -length, hand made, 'peasant style dress of pct, yester seersucker. The 'drag featured a lace trimmed, attached pinafore, wide fitted waist and short lace trimmed sleeves, a Juliet cap of crocheted daisies held her:detachable, midi length, Lace trimmed tulle veil: She wore a pendant and bracelet, gifts of thegroozn, and diamond ear rings, a gift from . her grandfather. Shecarried a cascade of, bronze ,and, gold mums with spe'a'rs of wheat intermixed. Maid of honour was Mrs.,Neva Diehl of Goderich, friend -of ,,the bride. Bridesmaids were,.Miss Ruth Whitten of Goderich, sister of the groom, NMrs. Marilla Lizmore of Hamilton,,,, sister-in-law of the bride, and Miss .Rita Poelman of Goderich, friend .of the bride. Following the peasant and fall themes their, dresses were floor -length 'and •gathi ered ,at a high waist with a deep ruffle at the hemline. The long full sleeves were gathered at the wrists. Two wereu cantaloupe orange and two in wild .,. -vine green, blending beautifully with their -bouquets of bronze and gold. mums. They wore large, cream tone, crocheted picture hats, trimmed to match their dresses, gold slippers with varicoloured vamps and- each wore a, golden ,choker necklace. The groom and his attendants wore brown tuxedos and gold shirts. Groomsman was Robert Smitrof London, friend of the groom. Ushers were Jon -Lizmore of Hamilton twin brother df the bride, Gary Bean, of Collingwood, friend of the groom, and Jamie Lizmore of Bervae, youngest brother of the bride.. P A reception supper was held at • the Harbourlite Inn in Goderich where the bride cut the rather unique wedding cake which -was four tiers completely decorated with live flowers. The bride's mother, received in an ensemble of lilac, silk polyester, with bone., essQries•and wearing a corsage of pink sweetheart loses.,• . The bride groom's .mother wore an ensemble of off white and blue polyester fortrel •with black accessories and a corsage _ _ of yellow sweetheart roses. For travelling, the bride _chose a mini -length multi' coloured silk jersey with black patent ac'essories and, wore a corsage of green cymbodium orchids: • hollowing the super and dance, the couple left on an extensive trip through Southern,a'Eastern and Central Ontario and upon returning will reside in ;Galt where the groom is employed by the Royal Bank. ' Out-of-town guests attending, were from Clinton, London, Aylmer, Kitchener, St. Thomas Fort Erie -,Toronto, Hamilton, Campbellville, Port Elgin, Kincardine; Collingwood and Parry Sound. For the rehearsal luncheon, a smorgasbord was held at the home of the bridegroom's parents in Goderich where a pleasant social evening was -enjoyed by the.wedding party and friends. Prior to her Marriage, Janet was honoured at several --showers. A -shower -vas .held--at-Kir*loss,Community..een.tr4,_.by.._ neighbours of the bride's former home. Miss Ruth Whitten was -- hostess for a relative and neighbour shower in Goderich, and Mrs. Neva Diehl and Miss Rita Poelman of Goderich were hostesses for a shower and acquaintances from that area. Sheryll Macdonald- danced the Highland Fling, , Mrs. Collins read the address to the bride, and ' Nancy MacLennan, Patti O'Connor and opening the gifts.
