presented, by the chairman of
.the Board; Mr Robert Elliott,
who st.ted that he was proud to
see the "end product" .ofthe
county educational, system, and .,.

reflected the, high calibre of the
administrative and teaching
staffs.

Mr. L. Boyce, vice-principal,
presented the'special awards t�
outstanding students. The Grade
10 Latin prize, donated by the
Ciatholic Women's League, was
presented bN: :Mrs, W. Palmer,.
and Mr. W.. Fray ne .presented

International Association
Machinists.
Susan Bisset, one of the
collegiate's three ;Ontario
Scholars, ',gave the ,,val6dictory
address .. on behalf of the
graduating • class, Susan has been
a consistent' winner of high
awards throughout her high
ho.ol career. and in Grade 13
achieved ,an average of Hi per
cent on seven credits:

Miss Bisset, now attending
the University of Toronto,'
qualified for two° scholarships
from that institution, but was
permitted to' accept only one,
the Hugh Innis Strang Memorial
Scholarship, valued at $2,000. In
additiOn, Susan received the
Robert MacKay Memorial
Scholarship, • for the highest
average in Grade 13, and the •
McKim Memorial Scholarship,
wort two years ago and now
payable on the completion, of
Grade 13. •
In her remarks, Miss Bisset
s a i d. ''We graduates have
completed writing a very
important chapter in the books
. of our lives." Each one is
different, she noted; but each
one has arrived at this important`
moment our lives, our
,graduation.
"It is our task as citiens,"
she said, "to willingly -accept the -
•
responsibilities recently
bestowed upon us by the
gOvernment." `--!The manner in .1
which we cope with these duties
will assess our maturity as vvell
as the true value a- 'our
edUcation."- • -

impede the evolution towards a
progressive society,

dogmas and traditions.". •
"Goodbyes,'" she said, "must•
• ,, indeed be expressed to pollution
in its many forms which
threatens our environment."
• "Prejudice clouds .the minds of
people everywhere and deep
feelings of mistrust and hate
destroy any hope of Mutual
.understandings on our planet."
"An ever Widening chasm
separates those who have, from,
those who have n not," • the—
valedictorian pointed outr., "and
the .killer apathy cripples most
everyone."
"This list seems endless," she
said, "but I propose that tonight
we also resolve to say goodbye
to these and other pressing
problem." .

with- an average of 90.1, Larry
Mohring with .86.3 and Dawn
Prest with 80.6 on an average_
from seven credits.
