As one stop on a flying campaign tour of Ontario, Provincial
Liberal Leader Robert Nixon was in Wingham last Thursday to
do, a taping of a television appearance on CKNX TV.. He
arriveti"-at .Sky Harbour here in Goderich at about 3:00

to lead Huron Liberals

for the October 21 provincial

Duncan was one. -of two
candidates who agreed Monday

Huron. Although the meeting in

supporters chose Duncan''s
opponent, Norm Irwin, R. R.-2,
Kippen, to carry •their banner,
Irwin withdrew "for. personal
• reasons" on Tuesday.

At a nomination meeting, held
on Friday evening of last week,
Charles MacNaughton, Minister
of Transport and
CCommunications - was chosen
-to seek election to the Provincial
Legislature , once ", more and

Conservatives of Huron riding by
the' local P.C. Association. His
nomination stood unopposed for
the candidacy in the upcoming
October 21 election.
In, accepting the nomination
Mr. MacNaughton told the

intended to fiat clean election
and that he was confident on
success on election day. He also

Said that although he was sure he
could outnumber his opponents
by up to five to one with these
signs„, his election campaign
committee had decided again,IstA
since it was felt such action
infringed on privacy, and the
right of each individual to casta
secret vote for the candidate of
their choice.

The organizers note that all
children under 17 are welcome
but they request that 'they be
accompanied by an adult to be
admitted. to the arena.'

Twenty -four-year-old Ralph Edwin Gillis of 160 St. David Street in Goderich died on Tuesday
evening in the wreckage of this car after it was involved in a. single car accident on Elgin Avenue
just west of the Britannia Street intersection. The car, driven by Peter Herlufseli, 20, of 114 Picton
Street west, went out of control, clipping off a 14 indh maple tree and slamming into the front of
a4house located at 117 Elgin. Police are still investigating the crash and no.charges have been laid

and , Mr. Hill said that their

available to Mission Members
visited, Peking by way of Hong
Kong, Canton and Chan-sha.
On the way back they were
,provided with a special aircraft
for the trip- from Peking to
Canton. Whdle no definite
business deals were finalized
during the visit, Mr. Hill felt
that in some fields there would
be a good- chance of two-way
