responsibility. It is ever
refreshing,` richly rewarding and
sharply `surprising.
A young • woman had a
lifechanging dream. • Christ
Himself stood before. her,.saying,
"Come, go where I am going`."
".Where?" she asked.
The answer came, "You have
done with places. Henceforth
there is only one place where I
am and where I am going." '
The vision fled. In deep
concern i;ii of ,being left behind,
she left her room crying.
"Having 'seen what I have
seen and having heard what I
have heard; I- am going.'.' She
woke- to a new discovery.

• In John 14 the Saviour is
interrupted in turn by Peter, by
Thomas, by. Philip and by Judas.
All the, questions,were.turned to,
`Lord, whither goest Thou?"
Have we not one and all been
torn and worn by such basic
questions as, Whence , came I;
Whither am I going? Why am I
' here? What resources are at my
disposal? Who will go with me?
What does all this business of -life
----mean anyhow-?
"Lord to r,Lhoin shall we go
but to Thee, for Thou hast the
words of eternal life."
Read again Join 14 and find
'the answers to Whence?
Whithes?._What? How? and Why?
The great questions are not of
the mind, but of 'the .heart; the
grea`> problems- are not of the
intellect but of the emotions the
great burdens are not of the
head but of the heart.

When trouble comes, what
are some of the -answers available
to the questing soul? ,
.Despair It was suggested to
' Job `Curse God and die!.' But he
turned a deaf ear, stiffened .his
spiritual backbone and said,
"Though He slay me yet will
trust Him." Despair has no cure
. for care.
Discipline - - It closes the
inner life ,to ' all the spiritual
resources which knock at ,the
