Sponsored by the merchants of Kincardine, the Kincardine Businessmen's' Association, the three days wilt include all types of nivel tnerchandizing' ideas with each iherchant setting up his own display on the sidewalk, Town and Country '71 in Kincardn- Starting sssisswoomsswommissmiva .The entire main street will be Clear. for $.oppers to walk in leisure with- no worries about traffic. hi addition, most merchants' are advertising extra bargains in a,tabloid size special section of the News this week. All the action starts Thursday morning as the kiddie rides, pony rides and 'bazaar sales swing •into full tilt. QueenStreet will be closed from the post office to Makin's Gulf service station. Thursday night will see a bingo sponsored by .'the MacDonald Branch 183 of the Royal Canadian Legion.' The bingo will be held in front of the Legion hall. The big event Friday is •the dance at the Kincardine Pavilion to the music of the Dimensions. Admission is ,byadvance tickets only which ate d)vailable from all members of the Kincardine KinsmenClub. Another feature will be the Hobo Parade staged by the playground. Rides will be in operation all day Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. when the street is closed off. Another bingo will ,be held Friday night, again sponsored by the Legion. Saturday, the main day of Town and Country '71, will feature the annual Town and Country Chicken Barbeque, the Kincardine Scf9ttisti„Pipe Band and the gala shirt fail parade and street dance. The chicken barbeque, .sponsored jointly by the Kincardine ' Agricultural Society and the Kincardine .. Rotary, Club, will run from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m,*.,,The pipe band will appear at the regular eight” o'clock slot and the shirt tail parade and street dance will begin at 11:30 p.m. The main street will" remain closed off Saturday evening for the shirt tail parade and street dance. Representatives of the Businessmen's Association ,expressed appreciation for the co-operation received frotn the Kincardine town council and the local .police. It is expected that parking will be a problem and in this regard the Kincardine Sea Scouts Iiiaie — offered their assistance. Council refuses trailer Town Council has approved a planning board recommendation not to grant permission for a house trailer, to be located on the property at 109 Napier Street. The area, council" agreed, was zoned Residential A and the trailer would* have been an accessory- building which is prohibited in Goderich. „ * . • .* *.„ According •to Reeve Paul Carroll, more and more 'people are discovering St. Christo 'her's Beach this summer.
