VI 'F'1) CHURCHES Giants or grasshoppers' We are living in an age of obscenity with which the Giants and. Grasshoppers, an age government sponsored CBC has 'when Christian men. and women shocked Canadians from coast tc -,. ,-. , t;.at a st me .Q st with...t&&evsi ;.,4c} erttsing. .a. Tir'rs— includes Editors -of---and ,some` -..pr gaamrnes'rto-say nothing of the down -grading- of the Lord's' day.. There, are churches where the Bible should be --res c3red-_'to -the pulpit,: T re-. are ' many people' who have left theit' first love and desperately need the breath of revival,,Many are like, grasshoppers and afraid, t6' face' up to these giants. The people of God, members of the Church of Jesus-- •Ch-rist, are marching to Zion. "Our fathers b met the giants in their -day' and are now crossed over to the other side: 'We can ;join 'them when the time comes by facing up to. these giants in our day. Our great leader Jesus Christ, is greater than Joshua. -Jesus fought the giants single handed. He overcame - the giants 'of sin and death, when He shed His own precious blood upon' the cross of Calvary, and He will -lead-all- -who -- wil-l- follow Him, right into the promised land. Read His `message in John fourteen. newspapers, who nittst write as they think and tet the chips•fall where they may. ' The public 'would wish -this -'to -be the way: The same thought applies to the Christian, minister, who when he stands before the people, must as St. Paul says, "I give you the which I have first received."He must speak the truth and please God, not ,man, for it is to Almighty God that he is responsible 'for the things which he so speaks. , - In the Book of ,Numbers, chapter thirteen; we have an account of Moses sending out twelve . spies to view the promised land and, bring back a • true report. How ,best to enter that land, what kind of crops grew there, what kind of towns and cities, what, kind of pe e, some -what as our present Ce' sus in Canada. Tencameback with a weak report, , the produce was excellent, it was a land of milk. and honey, but it would be folly to" try.and.taice•over,°f ecaus'e"the. people are giants, and we are as grasshoppers compared to them. But the other two, Joshua and Caleb, gave a true report,. a - --lovely land, walled cities and towns, yes,. the 'people are giants, IAA with the help' of God, we can go th and possess the land. And so Joshua was appointed the leader of God's people, and he led • them, with the help of God, to ,aComplete victory. They either must go in and, possess the land or go back to Egypt and slavery. And so today, the Christian Church. ,is marching to the' Heavenly Canaan.' There are those who complain' and murmur saying, "We will "never get there, there are too'., many giants to overcome. Yes, ' the ugly giant of Sin rears his head everywhere, and he has 'a great army of other giants, many of thein known ' to us all. Thee is never a day but what ,the Christian 'must face some giant. or another. What about the stream 6f blasphemy ' and ''LBACKHOE' 'WORK.
