Speaking of great 'things..

The arena vibrated to the
sound of.bagpipes, played by the
' Bruce County Junior Pipe .Band
fromKincardine under direction
of Pipe Major Bill McLeod. Solo
pipers ,were 'Glen" ,k; d 'Larry
McGregor and Glen MacKay,
piped for individual events. .
Goderich and area dancers
danced lightly to the pipes for a
" full .,two -hour spectacular show.
Dancers and pipers all were at.
their best.

Mary Lynne Telford and
Brenda Harrison let the tensions` -
of hours of planning. .and
,Orad.icing-w11:p:their- pils,' ease°
as the evening began and they
could see ,the, awards of the
weeks of hard work. . .
In the dressing room, several
mothers were 'kept busy with
hectic costume 'changes, while
out front two fathers filled in
between- events by acting as
excellent masters of ceremonies.
Another father sold tickets at
the door andwas very gratified
to see the crowd streaming in.
. Four young brothers of
dancers helped out by giving out
programs and taking tickets.
A couple of mothers whipped
up a costume in the last four
days and Brenda danced even
though 'ghe had just had a 'cast
removed from • her foot the
previous Wednesday.
It was -a great success because
of the co-operation. of all', which
one of • the main ingredients
needed for such a large
undertaking as w well ,as an
appreciative audience. "
Some "hope ' the' Highland
Dancing Concert will become an
annual event.
A highland dancing
competition will be held

Memorial School"beginningoat 10
