It seems the building was sold for s$50 to Art Bourdeau-and Mr. .Bourdeau with the assistance of the Goderich pollee department and the PUC decided Saturday was the ,day to move the edifice, The lady who contacted us indizectly.just Wasn't to happy with the building going for $50, and she also thOught perhaps there was a bylaw in the townhall that prohibits the moving of such buildings on a_Saturday: So, we did get involved. Our gal Shirley contacted Museum curator Ray Scotchmer and according .., to him he was instructed to get rid of the old 'Workshop on orders from members of the 'Huron County property•ComMittee, "to make, room for a new workshop." The county fathers also decided against 'tendering' the building on the grounds that the cost of advertising would notoffset the'Possible small arnount they would get for the structure:This seems logical. Mi. Scotchmer apparently. contacted several persons , who he thought might be intereSted in the old considerably . less for education workshop and, Mr. Bourdeau made his offer. The building itself was in 1971 and some will pay built in 1955 by'lierb Neil, who was, curator at the time. We also substantially more. ' . understand tha it was built at a very low , price from materials, ' Considerable time was spiArrt obtained, from the old courthouse that burned': As for the lady's by board members discussing the guess that a bylaw prohibits the moving of such things on a Saturday inequities of the system but u{ 1 - sorry, ma'rn; but you could be confusing it with a highway, conclusions were reached.
