Mr. -and Mrs. John} Emmerton
visited Mr: and Mrs. Lorne
EmniertoR1 Tuesday, March 23.
Billy John and Marjorie ,
Stothers have sold their farm
and are moving"to Goderich,
. Wednesday, March 24, saw a
robin shivering'- high' in a''tree..
Temperature nine degrees,
t feel, after some due thought
and after reading Woman to
Woman and another article, that
I owe an apology to John W.
Aldridge for treating his book,
"In the Country of the Young", '
with undue levity. The book is a
serious and thoughttly expose of
a truly serious matter. While I
personally hhve not run into the
drinking and drugging side of the
young people, this, does not
mean that it does not exist. And
while a large portion of our
young people are sensible, sober
citizens; even some of our rather
fine ones,,.hrought- up in good
homes, get caught up in these
activities. Pak time for kids to
-rttri away from home seems to
be May and September. School
pressures that they cannot face
are the cause. Another, reason
given is lack of love and
communication between parents
and children, also parents who
talk about high ideals but do not
live them. These things take
some thinking about if one has
children.
Congratulations• to Walter and
Uta Gruendler. They finally got
a girl. While Mummy's in
hospital, big brother Richard is
'staying with the John Wiegand's
and Mark and Arian -are staying
with the Carl Lohse's.
.Friday, March 26, heard and ,
saw a kildeer.
""How'd you do in the card
game last night?", said Lorne to
'Bill, when, they mgt in the post
office, "I was in the seventy's,"
said Bill. And so it went at the
LOL card party, March 25. The
points were high . and the
`competition fierce at the eight
• tables. Mrs., Alvin Alton was high
lady with 81. Marie Park and
Lynne' Wall cut for second place,
Lynne' getting it. Didn't -get the
points, _but they'. 'were in the
seventy's, George' Errington was

dents,
The
last, but most
important term for the students
of Robertson School.
This term may make the'total
difference in whether you will
spend -another boring (if I may
Call it that) year in the same
room, or be passed on to
another grade. • °
•. I quite agree with everyone
that studying $nd' paying
attention in class is a very hard
"thing to do, and takes an
enormous amount of
self-control.
•
We should try hard to get rid
of the idea, school cannot be
enjoyed: Naturally we like, some
subjects better • than others but ,
each_„ubject has its good points
too.
Try a bit harder kids.
'Give School a chance!
Signed,
Me.
