I'm in the mood to be left behind_
Monday morning too early
— 1 get shouted at! We're either...
going now or I get left behind,
and Florida is a long way off. -
I'm in the mood to be left
behind — knowing mea I've had
about two honrs sleep, done
about a quarter Of the things' I
had to do — I can't even feel my
way around and they're waiting
for me to get into the car! .
I, had tried to pack things $o
that I would have ,all the thisses
and thatses in one bag that I
. cOuld keep in -the car at. my`.feet.
• There's .always a lot of, "just in
th'ar sekiatemeit serl•,v
but it's carted along -- just in
case, •
I can't find • my shoes
should I ,take a coat? No, It is 70
td 80 degrees down there so no'
room for coats. I compromise by
wearing slacks and a sweater set,
and find everything. has been
chucked into the car. We're on
the way and 1 hit the pillow: We
soon leave the piled up snow
„behind And the last shreds of it is
seen out of Detroit.
The sun smiled on us before
we started and when 1 jumped
. out of :tho,:.car at the Signal to
jam my write-up in that letter
box I almost stepped on a shiny
dime. That all , seemed like a
good omen to me. But from
Bayfield on it was. cloudy and
• remained so for"most of the trip.
"""2(t.times. we were afraid .we were
going to hit a, good storm but we
got• , thro. without any bad
weather. ,
Breakfast in Sarnia and I
paddled in in my fluffy slippers.
The customs -man was- very nice
and then I seemed to miss
everything till_wweMnye just 88 ,
• miles .front Layton. So far the
trip was dull and uninteresting
and no wonder!. NO snow, the.
country side dull and dirty, and
we're not getting good mileage
taper gallon which makes me wish
I'd kept the little Beaumont.
We hit a ' long stretch of
cement road which btimpty
bumps ydit- along — like you had
a flat tire. We're sticking to
llwy. 7,5 recommended as the
shortest 'distance, between — here
and there! •
I see names of towns and
advertising that I would stop off
to see --but FORGET it! Well I
'snoozed 'from 'one gas fill up or
,, meal to the other: I'd stay awake

Lexington, Kentucky was nice

of dirty looking grey moss
covering them.
After we were into the state
of Florida there were a•lot more'
of these sad looking trees but
only once did we see a turkey
buzzard and one group of little
pigs out beyond the good fences
they now have all along the real

now: We seemed to miss the

GDCI Drama Club
is on the move!
Members of the Goderich and
,Distriet Collegiate Institute's
drama club are fast learning that
there is far more to -a drama
festival than On-stage antics.
The- group left 'Tuesday for
London where they will present
Aet II of,Madwoman,of Chaillot
by .Jean Giraudaux. And with
them went their garb,, stage
props and anything else needed
to ,compliment their
„performances. The youngsters,
with the help `''of two truck
drivers, ;were responsible for the
ldatfing and unloading of the
sets.
But London is merely the_ first
step in their ' efforts ' to cop
performance titles at the Ontario
Collegiate Drama Festival to be
,held in Brantford this coming
weekehd. •
After a one -night's stand in
the forest city, the, group will
ad
rel and 'then ...unload again
here in Goderich when they will
present the same Ma.dwomian 'of
Chaillot, no doubt a little .more
polished after London's
performance, on Thursday night

miles from the mainland. •
Neither Salem (Marjorie
