strange- children, laughing
happily. It was Valentine's Day,
and she certainly should have

children. kids,, 'but the, trouble was, she

givsing out their valentines, it,wail
time to go home for lunch.
Jenny dashed out- the door
and bast into a flood of tears.
"1 hate it here. Oh why did we
ever have, to come?" she
thought,. Jenny hadn't received
one single valentine!
When Jenny begged to stay
,home for.,..the afternoon, her
mother insisted that it couldn't
be that bad, and that she could
nOt miss school just because she
had no friends. It was lucky. she
did though, because a surprise
awaite'd Jenny.
One girl - pgally Smith - had
noticed that Jenny had, not
received any valentines, and had
seen her crying on _her way
home.. During lunch hour, she
had called all the children in her
'class together, to lirrange •a
surprise for her. Everyone came
in early, and made a great big
valentine card .with everyone's
name signed at the bottom.
Jenny stepped inside the door
of her classroom and then,
Surprise! Surprise!' vvelcome
shouts greeted her. The card was

Jenny looked around at
everyone, tears 'running down
