Fun in the snow
AY, QECEMBER 31,197q
Tuesday a.m+ and a beautiful
winters' day -- actually warm
out. Seems to be about two feet
of snow on everything and the
sun . is cheating beautiful
shadows.
.1 know the Kinsmen and
snowmobile folks are hoping we
have, as much snow at the end of
January (30 31) for ,their
Winter Carnival.
1 ee many trails made by the
snowmobiles and 1 hear the area
around!Feagan's gravel pit --- and
the orchard at the end of the
road are dandy. Also the South
Beach Park is wide open for fun,
but please don't try going out oh
the ice, - there is lots of,poom
without risking a ducking.
Sledding is great on the Golf
club hill, too. 'There are sekeral
outdoor skating rinks either
being used -- or almost ready.
The Shaws down on Wilson
Street are preparing a dandy
•again this year.
We should find the secret to
their great success for an
outdoor rink, as theirs seems to
stay nice for such a long time. I
see some people spread a huge
sheet of plastic as a base. but
when the- ground is well forzen
- as it is now - 1 shouldn't,
think that the plastic Would be a
necess'ty.
•I'oda\ for the first time w
years I found I could not enter
the lookout at the end of '\V -est

The students were
accompanied by Mr. Garrow,

Machan said this is his third time

When_ 1 asked, the students
what they thought of it they
said they . found it very
interesting, educational and

plays require more work. back
