Maier conducted the service while Miss. Jean Bogey, as organist, provided the accompaniment for the 'wedding and for Miss Gayle Anderson, Soloist, ;who sang the love theme from Romeo and Juliet. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Smith, 835 Lolo Street, .Brocklehurst, and the groom is, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Gilbert, 207 Beach Ave., Kamloops and' grandson of Mrs, Beatrice Gilbert of Goderich: The bride wore a formal gown of antron lace with long sleeves and a long train which fell from the waist. Her . three -tiered veil was shoulder length; held. in place with a headdressof yellow rosebuds and white tulle, For something borrowed, something olds the bride wore a strand of pearls loaned to, her by Mrs. Helen Olmstead of Kamloops. Maid of honor was Miss Maureen Whelan, who wore a floor -length gown of yellow peau d'elegance with a tiara of yellow flowers and carried bronze mums. The three bridesmaids, Janice Perry and Janeane Anderson of Victoria' and Karen Gilbert of Kamloops wore green gowns styled similar to that of the maid of honor, and they carried yellow mums. Doug Richardson of . Hoisefly was bestman. Two brothers' of the, groom, .Ken and Larry Gilbert of Kamloops and Brian Smith, brother of the bride from Vancouver ushered the guests. Gordon Gill of Kamloops was master of ceremonies at the reception at the Moose Hall. The yellow and white streamers which decorated the hall continued the theme of the wedding. The wedding cake was made by the mother of the bride. Keith Croom of Vancouver proposed the bridal toast. Sherry Anderson took care of the guest book. The black and white fortrel pant suit with black accessories and a corsage of red rosebuds was worn by the bride for the couple's honeymoon trip, through B.C. and Vancouver Island. -• Guests attending the wedding from out-of-town came from Vancouver, Vavenby, Golden, ll3irch Island, Richmond, Lillooet. Red. Pass, Port Alberni, Surrey, North Surrey, Maple Ridge, Victoria, Horsefly, and New Westminster, Beausejour,. Manitoba, Calgary Alberta and Goderich, Ontario. KnoX • Presbyterian Church, Goderich, was the 'scene November 2i . for the wedding at which Karen Elizabeth MacLean, London, becamethe bride of Stephen Charles Snell, Sarnia. The couple exchanged vows and rings before Rev. G. Lockhart Royal, The church was decorated with ' twin candelabra centered with white gladioli, mums and purple heather and white ribbon streamers interspersedwith heather and stephanotis. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs.. -John L. MacLean, and the groom is the son of Mr: and Mrs: Charles R. Snell, all of Goderich. - Soloist was Mrs. Betty Wilkin who was' accompanied by Wm. Cameron at the organ while she sang I. Believe and O Father All Creating. ,. ' ' Given in marriage by her father,the bride wore a white satin velvet semi -fitted gown with a jewelled neckline . and bishop sleeve's. A hooded- cape fell from her shoulders ° tot form a chapel train. The lace -covered bride's. Bible was crested with a purple orchid and streamers of stephanotis and heather. Matron of honor was Mrs. Linda Turcotte, Ajax. Bridesmaids were Susan Gower and Lisa MacLean, sisters of the bride, Goderich. They wore royal purple satin velvet gowns styled similarly to the bride's gown with tasseled silk rope belts. They carried white Testaments crested with stephanotis and -heather and wore stephanotis and purple ribbons in their hair. Groomsman was David Smith, Kitchener. Ushers were John MacLean, brother of the bride, Elliott Lakejand Paul Rice, cousin of the groom.. • The'wedging reception was held at the Bedford Hotel where dinner was served by candeiight amid heather, white gladioli and mums. - The bride's mother wore a silver grey French crepe A-line dress, grey accessories and a single mauve orchid. The groom's mother chose an empire -line chiffon and French velvet ensemble in blending shades of green and a green cymbidium orchid. For travelling to Kentucky, the bride changed to a beige trimmed dark brown pant suit, brown accessories and a corsage of gardenias with stephanotis and heather. The newlyweds are residing in Sarnia. , Prior to ,her marriage, the bride was feted at a shower at the home of 'John C. Hindmarsh where Miss Joan Hindmarsh and Mrs. Donna Harris were co -hostesses and at a dinner party given by co-workers at Victoria Hospital, London. The bride's mother entertained at a trousseau tea.
