delight to persons who attended.
Outstanding member of the
cast was Greg Markson who was
perfectly at home on stage .. .
and gave a most believable
performance as the young gypsy
skeptic.
Al Pirie as the gypsy
grandfather Melchior played the
part with dignity and assurance.
Other members of—the cast
were Graham Royal, Jan
Sutherland, Cheryl Hamilton,
Dale Johnston and Sue Dunlop.
Directors were Gail Sully and
Virginia Lodge. A number of
other young people assisted with
the production.

with lighting and whether your

efforts and a .great many -- like
me — would like to see them far,
far into the winter.
One of the brave souls with
lights is "little Mary Howell. If
you think she forgot to take
them down . after the festive
season she will tell you, "I like
the lights," and proceed to pour
you a coffee. On a cold stormy
night her pretty lights show up
for what it is — a warm friendly
spot — and ',remind me to send
Mary a jar of coffee! One reason
-- if there should be a need for a
reason — many has a lot of
p tty glass and crystal and you
shld see what happens to it
with the lights shining through.
This sounds like a good reason
for using lots of pretty lights
doesn't it?
I feel sorry for all those
people in the southern, warm
areas of North America. A great
many from Goderich fled with
the birds and are getting all
browned up and haven't even a
flake of snow to make their
colored lights glean in the night.
Little do they know how deep
the snow is right now. Why, my
squall jacket was dragging the
snow yesterday . as I. tried to get
to my car which was completely
surrounded with a three foot
depth of the pretty stuff. I know
it doesn't need to be • deepfor
my jacket to be dragging,
smarty, but maybe I LIKE the
stuff r— but I'm not a very good
liar, so I can only say I hope the'
sno-mobilers and the kids and all
the snobirds enjoy it — and I will
keep dragging .thru' it.
I cap only say I'm glad we

Getting back to the snow bit
— the . little ones are having a
great 'time sliding down the
"hills" thrown up by the
snowplow..I don't think the
parents , of these little ' ones
realize the hazard they are
creating when they shoot out in
front of you and laugh as they
scramble back before you can
run over thern. They think this
type of Russian Roulette is great
fun but the parents are going to
be real mad at the guy that runs
"over one of them, so may I say
-- please, PLEASE keep them
off the road. "
Also, it has been so slippery
that someone should tell these
kids who walk out in front of
you -- these are bigger than the
snow sliders — that it is really
dangerous -- that we might not
be able to stop in these icy
conditions and if they get hit,

What Christmas means to me
DIANE VAN ROOM
GRADE AVE
Christmas means to me the
time Jesus was born in a cold,
dark stable. All the miseries for
Mary and Joseph to find a place
for them to stay. .The way
everyone rejoiced when they
heard that Jesus was bow!. Now
we still rejoice every Christmas
by; giving each other gifts,
singing Christmas carols,
decorating with lights and bells,
and lots of other things.
Of"yes, Christmas is ,$'time to
rejoice. Make sure you know the
story of the Nativity. It's a good
one! That's what Christmas
means to me.

To me Christmas means when
Mary and Joseph went from
house to house to findva place to '
stay. They went to one house
and asked if they hada place for
them to sleep, because Mary was
going, to have a baby. The
man said there was no room in
the house, but they could sleep
in the stable if they would not
mind. So Mary and Joseph went
into the stable. Then the baby
was born. Angels from heaven
carne down and they sang. The
Three Wise Men came with gifts

Myrrh. That's what Christmas

CHRISTMAS TIME
Christmas time is almost here,
The most exciting time of year.
Someone's coining on Christmas,
too,
To make 'you happy. Try to
guess who.
Some shepherds watched their
sheep that night,
And an angel appeared all
gleaming and bright.
On that -day Jesus was born,
For Our love, he was crowned
with thorns.
'Although Christmas ,, is an
exciting day,
We should be thankful, though
we're gay.
