A Fairy Queen attends
BROWNIES
Pack One
We had a Fairy Queen in
attendance at our last meeting.
She wore a golden crown on her
hat and was allowed to do some
of our specs F uties.
Each Brownie is going to be,
sure to wear her uniform to
meetings ,.in hopes that she will
be the next to. be ,the Queen.
Everyone was so busy at this
meeting!
Our Packie was telling a story
about our founder, Lord Baden
Powell, , in one corner, while
Brown Owl was welcoming a
new Tweenie in another.'
Brownies " were helping
Tweenies to tie the reef knot in
their ties and in another corner
knitting needles were .clicking as
busy knitters
casting on stitch

Pack—Two
We divided our time into two ,
sections this week. The first half
was spent learning an Indian
Christmas Carol with the kind
help of Mrs. • McMillan and
Eleanor (Elizabeth's mother and
sister).
-4We had a little bit of time left
to enjoy singing a couple of our
favorite songs just for fun, -while
Mrs. McMillan played the piano
for us.
We' had a'few minutes while
waiting for the parents of our
Tweenies to arrive and it was put
to good use arranging our
ceremony "props".
We gave Seconder gripes to
Bonnie Reid of the Elves,, and
Kathy Weary of the Fairies and
were happy to give. Kathy her
Housekeeper badge as well. •
Then came the time that all
our Tweenies had been waiting
for!
We had our special Enrolment
Ceremony and are very proud to
announce that the following
thirteen girls are now members
of the .Second -Go- der-ich-Br-ownie-

group being told the Brownies

the older girls learning to knit —
with Packie's help. .
They sang songs in Pow Wow
and "closed » with " "their usual
songs, and the "secret squeeze".
Pack Four
Madam Commissioner and
five mothers joined the. Brownies
'for a very special meeting last
week.
Four new Sixers were named:

Fairies, and Heather Taman —
Elves.
Two Brownies, Shannon

Packie taught the girls a game
(about a little elephant balancing
on a piece of string) which will
help teach the girls the balancing
needed as they work toward
their Golden Bar. '
During Pow Wow the
Brownies checked with Mrs.
McCreath to be sure their new
emblems and badges would be
sewn in the right places. -

GUIDES
Tenderfoot Guides passed
many of their tests last week and
hope to be enrolled before
Christmas or the first of the new
year.
The float for the Santa Claus
parade is taking on a great
shape! The girls are busy
working on items to sell at our
boutique, bake sale bazaar to be
held ' December 12. The money
raised will help build Klahani,
our new camp.

• Elizabeth Anne (Penny) Errington and Terry J. Hodge
exchanged vows in Dungannon United Church before the Rev.
Clarence McCleneghan November 7. •
Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Hodge, Dungannon, are the parents of
the groom and Mr. and Mrs.arli Told Errington, RR 2 Auburn,
are the. parents of the bride.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a white
chiffon of taffeta floor -length gown with lilypoint sleeves,
chapel train and trimmed with heirloom lace. A three=tiered
tulle veil was held with --white fabric flowers. She carried
yellow rose buds and white stephanotis. • •
Matron ' of honor, sister of the bride, Mrs. Rick Park;
Dungannon, . wore a gold fortrel - crepe floor -length gown
trimmed with embroidered flowers in autumn shades. She
wore a picture hat of the same material -with long brown
streamers »and -brown accessories.
Bridesmaids Miss Marsha Hodge, Dungannon, and Mrs.
Robert McArthur, Glamis, were gowned similarly to the
matron of honor.
A11 attendants carried bouquets of gold and bronze muths.
Best man was » Roger Pentland. Ushers were Rick Park and
Dennis Vanderburg.
• Soloist 'Nancy Errington sang He, The Lard's Prayer and
The Twenty-Thlyd Psalm accompanied at the organ by Mrs.
Gordon Finnigan.
The reception was held in the Church parlors. The guests
were greeted by the bride's mother who wore a two-piece
sleeveless coat dress of beauty fortrel with a silver metallic
coat, black accessories and a corsage of white rose buds. She
was assisted by the groom's mother who chose a blue fortrel
embroidered dress, blue feather hat, black accessories and a
corsage of white rose buds.
The church and the tables were decorated with gold and
bronze mums.
The bride's , oing-away ensemble was a navy wool suit, red
accessorr esThd a corsage of red and white carnations. The
couple left for a short . honeymoon in Brantford and Niagara
Falls.
Mr. and Mrs. Hodges are residing in Goderich.
Prior to her wedding, the bride was entertained at a shower
for relatives at the home of Mrs. John Durnin; a church and.:
community shower,in the Dungannon United Church; and a
shower for the bride's girlfriends at the home of Mrs. Allister •
Nevins.
Mrs, Harold Errington entertained at a trousseau tea for her
daughter October 30. The table was decorated with a
hand -crocheted table cloth and •centred with a silver basket of
gold and bronze mums. •
Pouring tea in the afternoon were the groom's grandmother,
Mrs. Harry Watson, Auburn, and the bride's great
grandmother, Mrs. Elsie Haney, Wingham. In the evening, the
bride's grandmothers, Mrs. Victor Errington, Auburn, and Mrs.
Jack McGee, Dungannon, poured tea.
Assisting were Miss•Debbie,Hodge, Marsha Hodge, Mrs. Rick
Park, Mrs. Jack Caeser, Mrs. William Stew, Mrs. Jack Alton
and Mrs. Cora Hughes.•

welcome two new girls, Janet
Denomy and Susan Jeffery, last
Wednesday • night. With
Christmas so close now the
Guides are busy working on
their Carol singing — we'll tell
you some of their plans next
week.
