I had a plea.sant little note this week from Mrs. Hazel Steels RN, the lady who has retired from the staff of Goderich Alexandra and Marine Hospital , after 40 years 9f nursing. Mrs. Steels was very gracious in her praise of the stou concerning her. Thank you Alp. Steels. phe pointed out that we had ,forgotten to include in the_ article that she had' worked for 25 years in the numery and maternity departMent lof the hospital. "Many of our babies are now mothers in their oWn right," writes Mrs. Steels. "My how the years roll by." Mrs. Steels wasn't the only one who has drawn my attention to her work in the hospital's nursery. Just last week,. a young mother mentioned to me that she had read the story about Mrs. Steels and was very sorry to see her leave the hospital. "She worked for years in the nursery, you know," shq told me, "and you could always tell when Hazel was in there. When the babies would come out for their feedings, if they had any hair at all, it was brushed into big curls on the tops of their heads. She must have loved each one- of those babies." A wonderful tribute to a faithful nurse, I'd say. These are the things that make all the effort worthwhile.
