The meeting held by the L4.
last Thursday evening 4,t
Robertson School was certainly
a success. It was just wonderful
to look around and see so many
interested parents —„over 60 in
fact — and our thanks to all who
came or phoned in their support.
Our Guide Camp has it's own
special name now. It's
l<LAHANI" — an Indian word
meaning "The Great 09,tcloors".
Last Saturday was a pretty busy
one at Klahani as five volunteers
put in the footings for the Pan
Abode, By the way, it's on its
way now and should arrive
sometime in the next ten days.
• BROWNIES

We were happy to have our
new Packie, Sandra Freeman
join us at our last meeting. Mrs.
Dowds returned to test us for
our Athlete badges. Four
Brownies were pleased topass
this test and will soon receive
their badges. •
Brown Owl presented First
year service stars to three
Brownies — Rita Lassaline,
Melanie Johnston and Pamela
Lamb. Rita Lassaline attended
100 per cent of the meetings to
earn her star.
Broyvnies working toward
their Golden Hand took part in a
ball game. Our Tweenies were
working busily toward their
enrollment and haven't very
much more to learn now.
During Pow Wow we learned
some new songs for our Fairy
Ring ceremony. There were a
few announcements before we
closed with our Prayer and the
"Squeeze".

Pack Two
There was a lot of work done
,on Friday but it was disguised as
fun and the time slipped past us
at a terrific rate.
Mrs. Proctor,. the Art teacher
at .Robertson, is kindly helping
some of our. Brownies who are
working toward their Art
Appreciation badges. -Last week
they ,learned how ;to mix– the
primary colours (red, yellow,
and blue) to make orange, green
and purple, and they each made
a color wheel. This week,Mrs.
Proctor showed some film strips
of scenes from spring, summer,
fall and winter and discussed
the colors Associated witheach
season. During the week the
Brownies are to do a picture. (all
by themselves) of each season to
show Mrs. Proctor next Friday:
We put our "magic pool" out
this week so that we 'could plan
our little program together to
enroll our Tweenies next Friday,
The . 'older" Brownies were
really a big help to the Tweenies
as well as to Brown Owl and
Tawny Owl as we went through
each step of the ceremony to be
sure everyone would know what
to do.
Mrs. McMillan (Elizabeth's
Mom) is coming to help us with
our singing and teach us a new
song during the first part of our
next meeting. It will be a very
busy day. because shortly after
5:00 p.m. we hope to have quite
a few mothers and fathers,
relatives and friends visit us to
see our special ceremony. We
will do,our Brownie Magic and
change thirteen little Tweenies
into "full grown Brownies" righl.
before their eyes! •
Pack Three
OnMonday; November' 9 the
3rd. pack opened their meeting
with the Fairy Ring ceremony
and then let off steam with a
good game of "Farmer's Hen
Laid an Egg"..
The rest of their time together
was spent learning about
Remembrance Day from Brown
Owl and Tawny Owl. In their
work period each Brownie
enjoyed making a wreath to
, show in 'Pow Wow, and then the
meeting ended with their usual
closing songs.
Pack Four
Brown Owl was working with
the six Tweenies to be sure that
they. knew all the things needed
for their enrollment on
Thursday, November 19th. .-
The rest of the Brownies, and
Tawny Owl, were busy once
again with the tricky task of
knitting. This time though
Tawny was able to call on the
help of the older Brownies who
had stuck with it and learned
how to knit last year.
The Pack enjoyed having Beth
Walton with them and they hope
to see her join their meetings
each week.
Before going home everyone
enjoyed a game of snakes and
ladders.
