Jim Redmond blocked a Stratford punt, kicked the ball into the end -zone and fell on it for the Viking's other touchdown. Outstanding blocking ,along the offensive line by Pat O'Brien, Al Pirie and Bruce Fisher, along with strong defensive performances by Brad Vanstone, Al Drennan and Brian Boys third in volleyball BY CINDY LEEKING The senior boys volleyball team placed third in the *Huron Perth' . tournament. They defeated Wingham, Exeter, Seaforth and Stratford Central. Listowel and Clinton defeated Goderich. Westbrook helped the Vikings humble the Ramblers. Coach Wayne Horner's. strategy for the final . game against Wingham is based ont ball control, 'and' stopping he running of Don Pletch and Bruce Corrigan. Wingham's beat 'plays are the short pass and end sweeps, so the Viking defence will be attempting to contain these. The weather could turn out to be a big factor in ' the championship game. On their season record, the Vikings have to rate as strong favourites over the Mustangs, but ram and wind conditions cou4 do a lot to slow down the superior Viking offence. s JUNIOR FOOTBALL Coach Ray Donnelly's Junior Vikings gained themselves a berth in the Junior final by blasting Stratford Central Juniors 64-0 'in their semi-final game here last Wednesday. The final was played in Exeter on Tuesday. Had running quarterback Torn O'Brien scored three touchdowns on runs of 35 yards and 15 yards and on a 30 yard punt return.
