Linda Buchanan, daughter of Me.. and Mrs. Clyde E.
Buchanan, ,Utica, Michigan, became the bride of Donald
Charles Edward, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Edward, 22
Victoria St., Goderich, in an October 10 ceremony in Faith
Lutheran Church, Utica,
- Pastor E. David Spencer, Utica, was assisted by_Rev. G. L.
Royal, Goderich, at the "ceremony performed amid two
baskets of white mums.
For her wedding, the bride chose a peau satin gown with
chantilly lace bodice; scalloped neckline and bishop sleeves.
The straight skirtjfell from an empire waistline. She wore a
long matching train with satin buttons and lace appliques. Her
three -tiered elbow -length white silk net veil was held in place
by .real stephanotis and she carried a cascade of white
carnations afid blue and purple tipped stephanotis.
Maid of honor was the bride's sister, Miss Bonnie Buchanan,
Utica. She wore a light blue crepe skirt with ain empire
waistline and a royal blue lace bodice. She carried a cascade of
blue carnations tied with royal blue velvet ribbons.
Bridesmaids were Jeanne Buchanan, Mrs. Erwin Rumsey,
Patty Samulak and Mrs. David Edward. They wore orchid
crepe skirts with empire waistlines, purple lace bodices and
carried cascades of orchid carnations tied with purple velvet
ribbons.
Best man was David Edward, brother of the groom,,
-Goderich. Ushers were William Buchanan, Utica; Robert
'McKee, Robert Worsell and Ted Royal, all of Goderich.
A reception for 175 guests was held at the Camelot Hall.
The mother of the bride wore a chiffon formal -length gown
featuring a dark brown bodice with ruffled neckline, puffed
long sleeves and crocheted lace waistline, beige bell skirt and a
cymbidium orchid wrist corsage. The groom's mother chose a
formal -length aqua silk " `shantung A-line gown with long
sleeves, jewelled buttons and a purple orchid corsage.
A ten-day honeymoon followed to Northern Ontario,
'Mackinac Island, and Niagara Falls, the bride travelling in a,
blue and orchid pant suit.
The newlyweds are residing at 2445 e Grand River,
Williamston, Michigan.
The bride isin her final year at Michigan State University
and Awe- .is .a graduate_ of _the_ 1970classat- Waterloo
Lutheran University.

' White mums,white gladioli and deep pink carnations
decorated Willowdale United Church, Willowdale, October 3
for the wedding at which Susan Jane McCollum, Willowdal'e,
exchanged vow's and rings with Edward Paul Miller.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. D. M. McCollum,
Willowdale, and the groom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. C. O.
Miller, Goderich.
Rev. Lindsay King performed the rites. Soloist was Mrs. G.
Griffith who sang Wedding Prayer, The Lord's Prayer and He.
The bride chose a Victorian styled floor -length gown of
'crystal peau de soie for her wedding. It featured a high
neckline, full sleeves with tight cuffs and guipure lace trim on
the front panel, the sleeves and the neckline. Her
shoulder -length illusion veil was caught with organza petals.
She carried a cascade bouquet of American Beauty roses.
Miss Lynn Taylor, Scarborough was maid of honor, Mrs.
John Miller, Goderich was bridesmaid and Miss Eleanor. Hole,
•cousin of the bride, Ottawa, was flowergirl..,
They wore floor -length eowns featuring bodices of deep
burgundy velvet With full sleeves; and skirts of ice cream pink
crepe: They wore shaded pink rosebuds in their hair. 'rne
senior attendants carried cascades of shaded pink carnations
and the. flowergirl carried a basket of miniature shaded pink
carnations and white pom mums.
Ringbearet was John Hole, Ottawa. Groomsman was Clem
• Wolterbeek, Goderich. Ushers. were John Miller, Goderich, arid
Don Edington, Thornhill.
'The reception was held at the Four Winds Club, Willowdale,
The groom's mother wore a lilac dress with matching
full-length coat, black patent accessories and a corsage of
yellow sweetheart roses. The bride's mother chose a deep pink
beaded 'dress with matching coat of silk shantung, hat of
shaded pink silk petals and feathers, matching accessories ands
a corsage of deep pink sweetheart roses.
For travelling to Northern and Eastern Ontario, the bride
changed to a hot pink lace dress with long, straight sleeves,
- matching sleeveless crepe coat, black patent accessories and a
single gardenia corsage.
The couple are residing in Willowdale.
Prior to her marriage, the bride was feted at several events
including a linen shower with maidofbnor Miss Lynn Taylor
as hpstess; a miscellaneous shower for neighbors and friends at
the home Of Mrs. F. R. Cowan, Willowdale; an office juncheon
held 'at the ,Hot Stove League, Toronto; and a pantry 'and
kitchen shower held at the home of Mrs. L. R. Hyde,
Goderich.

St. Hillary's Roman Catholic Church, Red Rock, Ontario
was the scene of a pretty wedding when Sylvia Judy Dufour of
Red Rock became the wife of John Alan Sprung, also,of Red
Rock.
The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Reta Dufour and the late
Paul Dufour and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John
Sprung, RR 2 Auburn.
Beautiful bouquets of white and bronze mums decorated
the church and Rev. R. A. Carey officiated for the double -ring
ceremony. Traditional wedding music was played by the
church organist who was also soloist..
Given in marriage by her uncle, Richard Berube of Nipigon,
the bride looked lovely in a floor -length gown of,white poie do
soie with lace scalloped bodice and sleeves. A lace insert. from
the empire waistline to hem was trimmed with buttons, and
matching cathedral train. Her double veil of silk illusion
embroidered with flowers was held by a tear drop and pearl
•
tiarashe .carried _a..cascade. of red roses.
The matron of honor, Mrs. Beverly ' Krezonski of Nipigon
wore floor -length cullottes of mint green polyster crepe„witih
lace inset from empire waistline to hem and.a bateau neckline
accented by a black velvet, choker with cameo. She carried a
crescent of "white and yellow daisies, and wore daisies in her
hair.
The,bridesmaids were Miss Vicki Kingston of Thunder Bay,
Miss Barbara MacKay of Red. Rock and Miss Melanie Sprung,
sister of the groom, Auburn RR 2, They all wore mint green
cullottes identical to the matron of honor.
The flower -girl, little Miss Hirvela was dressed identically to
bridesmaids with daisies in her hair and carried a white open
parasol containing red roses.
The ring bearer was David Hirvela. The groomsman was
Fern Racicot of Red Rock.` and ushers were Bruce Vincent.
brother-in-law or the groom, Galt, Leon Sprung, RR 2,
Auburn, brother of the groom and Paul Dufour, brother of the
bride.
Following the ceremony a•reception was held in the Royal
Canadian Legion, Branch 266, Red Rock, which was
attractively decorated with blue and white streamers. The
bride's table was centred with a three -tiered wedding cake,
flanked with candelabra and flower arrangements.
-i Assisting the bridal tarty receiving the ±vwas the -bride's- ,
mother wearing a two piece navy wool coat and dress
ensemble, red accessories and a red rose corsage, and the
groom's mother in a two-piece navy knit suit, navy accessories
and gold rose corsage.
For a wedding trip to Thunder Bay the bride donned a twq
piece green wool dress with green and grey full-length weskit,
black accessories pnd an orchid corsage.
On their return they will reside at Apt. 10A, 10 Frost St.,
Red Rock, Ont.
Those attending from a distance ' were the groom's
.grandmother Mrs. Harold Sprung, Atwood; Mr. and Mrs. John
Sprung, Leon and Melanie of RR 2', Auburn; Mr. and - Mrs. _
Donald Sprung, Wayne, Eleanor and May Jane and Stephen
Campbell, Goderich; Jim Gibbons, Bill and Roy Buchanan and
Mrs. K. Cook, Blyth; Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Vincent, Galt; Mr.
and "Mrs. Les Ellis, Edgar and Don Henry, New Brunswick.

Mr. and Mrs. Ross McNee,
Nile, celebrated 62 years of
married life Wednesday, October
28 at their home.
Mrs. McNee is the former
Martha Hawkins, daughter of the
late Mr. and Mrs. William
Hawkins. The late Duncan and
Dorothy McNee were the.
parents of Mr. McNee.
Mr. and -Mrs. McNee were
married at the bride's home at
Sbepparton. TJiey farmed on the
second concession of West
Wawanosh before retiring at the
Nile.
Theo couple have two'. sons
living, Earl and Graham; ;14
grandchildren and 18
great-grandchildren.
Mr. McNee noted that the
weather last Wednesday was
"about like it was 62 years ago".
Both, Mr. McNee, 87, and his
84 -year-old . wife enjoy
reasonably good health.
