The nibble still smoulders at
the airpOrt and different ones
are bemoaning the fact that they
missed "Pretty Polly” in the
excitement.
One chap said he waS' near her
at one time but had, other things
his mina. "Never thought
about poor Polly as I had only
seconds to get out of the place.
I'm sure sorry we missed her."
• This is the general feeling of
all who were there that morning. "
Things.happened so fast that in a
split second it was too late. Polly
was well-known and one of the
main attractions for the

Goodbye Polk,
children, esPecially, visiting the
s Airport, was to talk to Polly.
She would laugh , with the
yOungsters and get all excited;
she could say many. words — and
knew. whento " say Ahem.
Everyone talked to her, teased
her, fed her ---- Just
EVERON1 fed her" says Lara
Bomasuit who worked there for
years, "We Weren't on speaking

when I was reeding her a

• No one is too sure about Polly
before the 'late Os SleMen gave
her to ,the 'folks at tkie airbase:
She waS said to be sev ty years

Visitors from all over the.
country will be sorry to hear of
her untimely death. There is talk

donation box when they have a

expensive, I am told.
This Thursday night.— in the
town hall — we will hold a Santa
Parade( planning -meeting. You
are' int@rested? — then come on
in — 8 p.m. The Parade. set for
Dec. 5 is not too far away: The
time sure rolls quickly by; so
you will -have to start, your plans
working right away while the
weather is nice, then you are
free for all the.excitement of
Christmas.shopping.
I feel the *merchants will be
happier with an early parade
° !Ringing hundreds to town with
shopping on their minds.
This years parade should be
even *better than the last — as.
this is the way we planned it.
There are floats from last year
ready to go again and already
Many great ideas are being
-4,alked over.
.1 hope with the earlier parade
more merchants will see their
way clear to take advantage of
this wonderful way to advertise.
"Remember -so and-sa's-lloat?"
This is one of the very best ways
to have your business broadcast,
don't you' think? •
