This is really so confusing that I don't know whether I can explainit or not ...but I'm just dumb enough a) try. I'm writing this column today which iS not today but two weeks ago today....or in other words, I wrote this column when I was here for when I wasn't here even though I would be here. Now that, you are thoroughly, confused, let me explain. I'm writing this column Thursday, September 24 for the Thursday, ' October 8 edition. The reason? I won't be here next week from Oct. 1 through 4 when I usually do my copy. I will return Monday, October 5 but it will be too late to d everytliing....so I'm just getting a head start on things. I hope you don't mind. That's the reason the subject matter of this column MAY be old stuff to you. Forgive me, please. * * school for the program. Last meeting; the members of the board of education in Huron approved the construction of an industrial arts shop and a home economics classroom at the proposed new addition for Seaforth Public .School. There was some opposition to the plan from some of the most unlikely quarters, notably John Broadfoot from the Brucefield area. I say Mr. Broadfoot was a surprise dissenter because the children of • the families he represents will likely benefit directly from the iri.chtsion of industrial arts and home economics at: Seaforth since Huron Centennial School near Brucefield is one which was singled out as a possible feeder • teaching physical education at that home economics for girls the local high school and is very and industrial arts for boys is keen on exercises for young helpful. By the time you read this, --there will have been -some • ektensive research done into the feasibility, of a callesthenics program for the youngsters in Goderich. 1 do hope that . mothers and other interested adults will take the time to call - Mrs. Goodwin (phone 'number 524-95451, with their comments. But lobk what exercise has done for Bonnie Pruden....or Ed Allen if you are a fellow who happens to be sneaking a look at this section of the paper. ' Bonnie Pruden, I guess, is one of the best examples of what exercise. can do for a woman. I ° • don't know just exactly how old Bonnie is (some say she is over 50) but she looks as though she is no more than 25 or, 30. Aside from keeping a woman young and slim, callesthenics tend to give a woman poise and gracefulhe:is. • Those qualities cannot be over -emphasized, of cOurse. "I WOULD." I- think Bob feels that there , are many other things that are rnore vitally needed in Huron County. Perhaps like Clarence McDonald of Exeter, Bob thinks that it is top priority to see to it that every school in the county has a good library resource centre. The Director of Education of the county, John Cochrane, said it was important not to hold -back alkparts...of...Huron County-' until, as he* put4t, -.Plinth the have-nots catchup."
