Kingsbridge Reunion attracts
O'Reillys, FIyTnns, Sullivans
return homefor weekend

Under, warm sunny skies,
Kingsbridge was a very active
little hamlet on Saturday and
Sunday, August 15 and 16.
The Kingsbridge Geneological
Society, their friends and
relatives returned to reunite and
reminisce their days spent here
in -the years gone' by.
As for the people of this area,
it was.. a time for . being
acquainted with 'relatives or
friends for some, while for
others, it was being acquainted
and putting the faces on the

souvenirs.
Close to 300 people sat down
to - the Reunion Banquet
Saturday evening in the Church
Halla A program of local talent
got under way, in the School
gyna later with Donald Frayne as
y chairman.
The opening number was Basil
Hogan with ;his violin. and Mrs.
Duncan Simpson at the piano. A
sing -song was led by Rev. Fr..
Henry Cassano and Ray Dalton,
after which Father Cassano sang
the Maltese National Anthem.
Vocal Kilos were heard from
Mrs. ,Robert McCallum of „ : a
.-Bodericb- axil; Miss Nancy,
gars,`" ..`
The Youth Ulub showedl;Fieir •
talents by acting in' two
humorous skits which they
wrote themselves.

recited by Miss Doherty. The
history of Kintail was given by
Kathy O'Keefe and the history
of • Kingsbridge, written by
Marianne Frayne; was given by
Miss Frayne.
$hiela. Sennett -danced the
Highland Dance .. with Dave
McDonald of Ashfield playing ,
the bag pipes. Ray Dalton
favoured with a violin piece with
Miss Irene Hogan ; of London at
the piano.
An impromptu square g dance
with Leo Courtney, callers was
- enjoyed by everyone.A recitation
gr.. was heard from Leon Sullivan.
Registration started at ode
o'clock Saturday afternoon
when 169 fromoutside the Parish
--registered_
Old-memories—were restored
by some of the people going for
rides on haywagons drawn by
horses.
Interesting displays of
antiques, machinery; old prints,
and family group, pictures .were
xi set up in the school and on the
_ grounds.
The C. W. L. hada booth on
the grounds and many
homemade articles, jams, and
baking were sold.

A light lunch was served in
the Church Hall.
The Closing Ceremonies began '
at 2:30 in the afternoon when
the Kingsbridge Scouts, Cubs
and Guides paraded from the
school t;o the cemetery to the. ,
music of, the Goderich Town
Band. {
After J the laying of the
Memorial Wreath by Jeanette
Hogan, two minutes silence was

observed.

OId timer John O'Connor"found an old corer from the Huron CountyMuseum an interesting
item wren. he visited the OId Boys'reunion exhibition at.St. Joseph's Schorr; Kingsbridge
recently. ' Demonstrating the use of . the machine is Susanne Paquette a member of the museum
staff. -
An address -yeas given by Ted
Flynn' in the absence of Melvin
O'Reilly . of Detroit, • the
Society's President.
Three Church Plates were
presented by bene Frayne to
three people who came the
longest. distance: Kathy
Treiweller of Washington; Ken
Ford of California; and Miss A.
O'Keefe of Vancouver.
The closing address was given
by Father Cassano followed by
O Canada and. the Star-Spangled,
Banner.
Everyone assembled ' in the
Church Hall for coffee . and
doughnuts.
Sunday morning at 11 o'clock
a Memorial Latin Mass was
celebrated by Rev. Fr: R.
Castsano, SS.P., Pastor, with Rev.,
Fr. Ralph O'Loughlin, C.S.B. of
Indiana, as preacher.
Members of the Goderich
Town Band took part in the
-��»•7@anad°°and -tc Star-Spangled
Banner to the accompaniment
of the Goderich Town Band.

Maryland, Corunna, Toronto,
Kitchener, Hanover'Minnesota;
Pennsylvania,alkerton, ,
Alberta, Holland, Washington,
British Columbia, ' Florida,
Brantford, Pickering; Windsor,
Quebec and Arthur.
Mrs. Gerry Hill, Scarborough, the former Wilamina Lannan
returned to Kingsbridge for the Old Boys' reunion. Her father
Willianxa-annan was alscrpresent.-In.this photo also is Sharon
;- et ey-nflw-of-Kitchener,4he i °hadW-retmrned home for
the reunion. She> is the daughter of ' Mr. and Mrs. Leo
Courtney.
This table cloth will bear the names of all the people who entered a conteseat the Kingsbridge
reqiion August 15' and 16. Entrants natbes were written on the cloth and the winner took.the
cloth, along with the unusual memento of who was at,pthe reunion. From the left arelOMarianne
