Badges were presented to aft the children who had passed their swimming tests during July'and the staff staged a display of rescue work using a boat inr- the pool. The presentations and water safety show were organized by the pool staff who wish to thank H. B. Taylors Corners hold annual picnk The afternoon of Wednesday, July 2-9, was the date chosen for the annual Taylors Corners Community picnic. Threatening rain and thunderstorms didn't dampen the entliusiasm of those participating. Mr. and Mrs. Sam Wain had generously offered their lawn ,as tie sight. . In the shade of the old Plum trees the ladies did their contests While the children frolicked in the sweltering heat and humidity on the back lawn. Thursday, August 6, with two games scheduled, Benmiller wiped out DRMCO 14-4 with home runs from Black with one left, on Falkiner with one on and two from Pirie, all $enmiller players. For the final game of the day, another carve up, Sandy's Clippers beat Goderich Building Centre 17-4. On Sunday, August 9, Gord's Sports defeated DRMCO 9-2 in the early game of the afternoon. Later Sandy's Clippers beat Benmiller 3-1, On Monday, August 10, Gord's Sports chalked up. a win over Sandy's Clippers with a 4-1 score and a' grand slam 'from Draper with bases loaded. - DRMCO almost literally smothered the Goderich Discounts later that night with'a, 20-7 win with a home run ,from Doug Keene for the Discounts failing to make up the difference. Home runs for DRMCO came twice from the bat of Miller and one from Lenny Willis. - in the JIM FOREST Jim Forest has been appointed Service Manager at W. J. Mils Motor Sales Ltd. Jim, who is 27 years old, has 11 years experience as a mechanic. He is Married; has one child and --plans to reside in Goderich itis the near future.
