I love sunny yellow flowers
and . I was just about to tell you
how peaceful and relaxing it is
to sit in a spot where there are
so many varieties of wild flowers •
that you are amazed when you
look, around you and notice the
colors of these beautiful
WEEDS!
The first to catch my eye.
were, the tall waving golden rod
--- (cat -shoo.. •,7 that's Probably
your first thought). On looking
closer, I think , they are not
golden rbd,,, but a similar flower
that I see in many gardens =- and,
many bouquets . Beside them a
bush with coral-orangy berries,
bright blue chicory, Queen
Ann's Lace, ,a real tall thistle of a
lovely shade of red -violet. A tall
little• tree is heavy with black
berries —looks like choke cherry
to me„, and near .it is another
- bush with berries -similar to the
orangy .ones but they are quite
red. At ross from all this are

some swaying, bullrushes, wild
blue orchid in seed arid a very
pretty spickey flower that I
think* was once in someone's
nice flower garden. Behind all ,
this la the tallwhite clover and a
lot of plants which I just lump
ttog Cher as weeds.4

With " big old birch trees ,
leaning across the path, cool air
and a soothing sound in the
background - guess, where I was
sitting! Your right with your last
guess - just about sat the end of
the road below the Pay. and the "
Essex St. Look -out. •
I had noticed one day (from
up top) that a great many were
using the water in this spot and 1
had thought it too stoney. So I
just had to see for myself - and
it is stoney! With all the stones
and sand there is' quite an
interestitig 'bay or cove forming
here which will someday be
great -for --small swimmers- as it
appears to be shallow for quite a
• distance. '
•I just hope we can hold our
meagre beach area for the use of
our great-grandchildren.
Goderich certainly has very little
to offer in this ,direction and I
can see where the land beyond
the pumping station could some
day be great' for beach area. It
does need ar bit of re -arranging
but it has great potential - let's

away from them all." Just what
would you do?
There are so many parents
who take advantage of these
`dedicated' people - they never
offer to " help - half the time
they don't even see that the
children get to these meetings on
time, 'and I think that is just -
.about the least they could do.
Help is needed in these groups
which are trying to help you
raise. your youngsters to be
thoughtful responsible people,

The Provincials Tournament
for the Ladies Lawn Bowling -
was a great success. The day was
hot and sunny so were most of

lawn bowl - or have watched
the -game know just what I mean,.
Our town teams did not cop the
