This tournament, now known as the Dr. Harry Hall Memorial Tournament, has proved to be a popular event in the local area lave bowling circle, and unfortunately, we had to turn dowrk many 'eager contestants simply through -lack of playing, greens. , While the whole event seemed to be under the threat of rain, and in fact the first game was •. halted by some rain for a few minutes, the three ganies were Completed without further •Nnterruption, with some excellent display of bowling skill.. Eight prizes were being competed for, and six of the' prize S were won by ' Goderich teams. To a layman this would appear to be a sort of -one-sided event, but this is not the case, since in many tournaments, our 15, ,,..Goderich teams were comprised of lead players drawn from names placed in a hat. And later the same night Gord's Sports took a 2-0 victory over Sandy's Clippers. On 'Thursday, July 2 Benmiller hit the Discounts -14 times and .had (one run hit against them for a 14,-1 victory. Homers were hit by -Black and Falkiner for Benmiller. Wardley hit the lone run for Discounts a homer with basesempii. Later that' riight the Building Centre crew chalked up a 7-2 victory over DRMCO. The position of the sun makes a difference as to which side you should aim your cast. Most fish like the shade, there- fore it's best to drop the first cast on the shady side -of a log -or stump.
