Bowling Club were ' hosts to 15
visiting teams entered from
Exeter, Mitchell, Seaforth,

July 1 Mixed Doubles
Tournament.
This tournament, now known
as the Dr. Harry Hall Memorial
Tournament, has proved to be a
popular event in the local area
lave bowling circle, and
unfortunately, we had to turn
dowrk many 'eager contestants
simply through -lack of playing,
greens. ,
While the whole event seemed
to be under the threat of rain,
and in fact the first game was
•. halted by some rain for a few
minutes, the three ganies were

•Nnterruption, with some
excellent display of bowling
skill.. Eight prizes were being
competed for, and six of the'
prize S were won by ' Goderich
teams. To a layman this would
appear to be a sort of -one-sided
event, but this is not the case,
since in many tournaments, our
15, ,,..Goderich teams were
comprised of lead players drawn
from names placed in a hat. The
visiting teams on the other hand
are allowed to match up their

against them for a 14,-1 victory.

hit the lone run for Discounts

entertaining and informative
film has just been given the
"Creative Mecellence" award of
the U.S. Industrial Film Festival
in Chicago. This, incidentally, is
the 10th award received by
Westminster during the past
year, including a Gold Medal and
a Canadian "Oscar", bringing the
-total to 46 awards won since the
company was established 11
years ago.

Noble, who, headed a team. of
Canadian scientists in 1958 at
the traversity of Western
Ontario. Supporting actors are

discovery of a new cancer -killing
drug- called VLB. Dr. Noble
(currently head of the Canadian
Research Centre and Professor
of Physiology at the University
of B.C.) is seen tracking down
the essential elements in the
periwinkle plant after he found
that tea made from it destroyed
white blood corpuscles in

vantage of logs and ,stumps . in
the water, says Red Fisher the

success improves when they
learn how to use these under-
water housing developments

Largemouth bass like to lie
under a log just where it. en-
ters the water and catch small
frogs, as they leave the water
to 'sun themselves. A bass bug
—Lor top water plug --east so
that it glances off the log will
often tempt a bass into think-
ing it's his next meal.
The position of the sun
makes a difference as to which
side you should aim your cast.
Most fish like the shade, there-
fore it's best to drop the first
cast on the shady side -of a log
-or stump.
During the hours when the

head, fish move into deeper
water along the log. When this
happens it's time to change to
a spinning rig and work the
deep water at the end of the
