Prime Minister. Pierre Trudeau flew into
the Bruce Nuclear Pdwer ,Development at,
Douglas Point on Friday afternoon in a
Canadian' Forces helicopter for a tour of the
facility.
He was accompanied by government
officals and two" other helicopters carrying
gids and press personnel.
Mr. rlrudeau, was welcomed by J. L. Gray,
president of Atomic Energy of Canada Ltd;
-G, E. Gathercole, chairman of Ontario
Hydro; H. Whalen, vice president of The
Lummus Company Canada Ltd. and J. S.
Foster, vice president Atomic Energy of
Canada •Ltd.
Following a' brief rest the prime minister
was taken to a special building that housed a
completed working model of the complex
and was `shown how the areas would be tied
together when , the construction was
completed,
He also was introduced to members of the
staff at the project.
The -party proceeded from the building on
a walking tour of the •construction site for
the heavy water plant; past the towers where
heavy water would be separated. All towers.
have been erected and are at present being
insulated. -
--./.1,3A short 'car and bus ride from the heavy
water plant brOught the party to the main
control area at the Douglas' Point Nuclear
Power Station which also houses the reactor
room.
A tour of the power station followed with
the reactor room as the highlight. Due to
limited space three Members of the press
only were allowed ' into the 'reactor room
with the prime minister. These were
members of the staff of Canadian Press, •
The prirne minister andhis party and the
members of the press were checked for
radiation before leaving the area and Mr.
Trudeau gave one of the receptionists in the
lobby something to tak about when he
e
presented her with a kiss on the cheek.
A motorcade took the party to the Bruce
construction -caa p Where the prime minister
rested for 35 minutes before an inform&
reception was held and the party left for
Hanover and a dinner that evening.

The annual Inter -school Field
Day was held at'CFB Clinton on
Tuesday,. June 16 with schools
competing ,Brom Goderich,
Clinton, CFB Clinton, Hullett,
Brucefield, Central, Seaforth and
- Holmesville.
Goderich -was overall winner
with 121 points; Hullett second
with 107; Holmesville, 46;
Clinton 43; Brucefield 37; CFB
Clinton, 26 and Seaforth, 24.
-Senior Boys champion was
