He was a member of Knox
United Church. His wife, the
former Mary J. Townsend,
predeceased him.

Each member was asked how
many years they had . been
connected with. St. Mark's
church, and what they would
miss most if this church did not
exist.
A ' panel consisting of Mrs.
Thomas ' Johnston, Miss Laura
Phillips and Mrs. Gordon Taylor
answered questions pertaining to
the church. This was most
enlightening and interesting. -
The church was opened in
1893 - with a Rev. Simmes, the
first rector. Mrs. G. Taylor had
the history of St. Mark's church
and read several articles from it.

son Bill now "resides. He lived
there all his'life until moving to
Dungannon a few ,years ago.
Mr. Stewart has been active in
community work having served
first on Dungannon Public
School Board and later as
secretary -treasurer. of West
Wawanosh School Area Board
for many years.' He also was
assistant postmaster ••at

previoug to her' 'marriage and
recently taught for 13 years at
