scene May 16 for the wedding at
-which,-Catherine- Joan._ Gould;
Edward Sirdevan, son of Mr. and
Mrs. F. E. S p:levan, Islington,
were united in marriage. -

Waterloo, officiating for ' the
double -ring ceremony amid
bouquets of tulips and daisies.
Edward , Wagner, Waterloo, the
organist, played a redly of Bach
selections.
Escorted by her father, the
bride wore an empire -waisted
gown of crystal organza trimmed
with yellow ribboned Venise
lace featuring bishop sleeves. Her
floor -length veil of tulle illusion
fell from a circlet covered with
the same' lace as trimmed the
s_. She aided a .nosegay of .
orange roses, yellow and white
daisies and cornflowers.
Maid of honor was Miss
Barbara Johnston, Goderich.
Bridesmaids were Mrs. Nancy
Tozer, Waterloo; and two sisters
of the groom, Miss Anne
Sirdevan and Miss Katherine
Sirdevan, Islington. •
They. were gowned alike in
various shades of yellow
r
flowered polyester tervlene in
empire -waisted - style. Their
headpieces and their bouquets
wete'r daisies.
The groomsman was John
Sirdevan• brother of the groom,
1st ingtion. Tim Gleason,
Chatham, Frank Calnan, Weston
and . George Gould. • brother of
the `bride. Goderich, ushered the
guests.
The wedding recep-tion was at
the ii alper Hotel, Kitchener,
where the decorations were
yellow candelabra, yellow roses
and white daisy chrysanthe-
mums. The bride's. mother wore
as rose silk worsted dress, a cream
wool.. coat. a rose -flowered hat
and a pink rose 'corsage. l'he_
groom's mother chose ' a blue
coat and dress of -shantung,
black accessories and a 'pink rose
corsage.
For - travelling to Northern
Ontario, the bride changed to a
two-piece white fortrei suit, red
accessories and a gardenia
corsage. ,
The couple, will reside in

Given in marriage by her
father, the. bride, wore a dress of
peau pe sole featuring a standup
collar . appliqued , with lace
flowers. The empire waist was
also trimmed with lace and the
with- individual ,flowers of the
'sane lace. Her headpiece was a
small cap of lace .flowers and she
carried yellow rose. ' buds
surrounded by lily-of=the-valley:

gowns and Miss McManus wore a
yellow gown. all styled identical
to the gown worn by the maid
of�_honor. Their flowers were the
same as those carried by the
maid of honor.
Prior to her wedding, the
bride was feted at several
functions. - ,

creaih, dairy sour cretttn, butter.
cream and yogurt, the recent\
"glamor" food. The Canadian
dairy industry, continues to
stock the markets and dairy bars
with attractive, nourishingloods
of high quality.
The home economists of the
Canada Department of
Agriculture feature two,
satisfying main dishes , built -
around dairy foods. "Baked
Cheese Puff" uses bread and
cheese and is covered with a
savory custard mixture,, before
baking. Crisp bacon bits enhance
this main dish,
BAKED -CHEESE PUFF
8 slices buttered white bread
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
3 eggs. '
3 cups milk
'2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon salt
'4 teaspoon pepper
Dash cayenne
' : teaspoon dry mustard
3 -slices bacon
Arrange 4 slices of buttered
bread in, a greased baking dish.

"A pancake -party"

For a pancake party. here's a
quick start with a mix. The
homemade richness comes from
the evaporated milk and the
easy -to -prepare fruit syrups.
QUICK PANCAKES
1 cup pancake mix
cup--water.....x ,
1 egg
2. tbsp salad oil or melted
shorten in g -
2`3 cup evaporated milk "
Combine milk:water, egg and
oil in a shaker or covered jar. (If
melted .shortening is used, add
after the pancake mix.) Add
pancake mix and shake
vigorously unt.iI the batter is
fairly smooth.

Pour small cakes
,-onto hot, lightly greased griddle.
Turn cakes .when bubbles on
surface • -break. Serve with'~
whipped • butter and warm
syrups. Makes 12 small cakes.
BLUEBERRY SYRUP ;
1 1 -pound can blueberries ( 2
Cups)
cup light corn syrup -
dashofsalt
With ` electric beater or
blender, blend blueberries until
smooth.
Pour into a small saucepan;
stir in syrup and salt. Bring to
boiling; boil gently, uncovered,
stirring constan.tly,' 5 to 7
m i n u tes_ Makes 2 cups.
STRAWBERRY SYRUP -
Repeat above.m.ethod, using 1

strawberries, thawed. •
HONEY -ORANGE SYRUP
cup honey
3 tbsp thawed frozen- orange
"juice concentrate
dash of salt
Combine honey. orange juice
concentrate, salt. Heat and stir.
Serve warm. Makes 3 4 cup.

and cheese. Beat eggs, add milk
and remaining seasonings. Pour
custard mixture over the - bread
and bake at 350 degrees F. for
30 to 35 Minutes. Cut' bacon in
small, pieces, ;fry until crisp And.
sprinkle oyer the cooked puff
just before serving. 6 servings.
"Savor,' Noodle - Bake'
provides six , delicious servings,
con ns both cream cheese and
ch ddar cheese as well as dairy
sour cream. A boon to busy
homemakers it may be prepared
earlier, refrigerated then baked
long enough to heat through.
SAVORY NOODLE BAKE
1 cup chopped onion
1 clove garlic, crushed
2 tablespoons oil
1 pound minded beef '.
1 19 -ounce can tomatoes '
1 5'12 -ounce can tomato paste
11-2 teaspoons salt
2 teaspoons sugar
teaspoon oregano ,
1 8 teaspoorr°ppper
ka teaspoon crushed chili peppers
1 teaspoon chopped parsley -
1 4 -ounce package cream cheese,
softened
't pint dairy sour cream -
1 tablespoon flour
1 8 -ounce package - noodles,
cooked and drained
' cup grated cheddar cheese
Saute onion and garlic- in hot
oil -until transparent but not
brown. Add meat and stir until
browned.. Add 'tomatoes and
seasonings; cover -and - simmer
gently V/2 to 2 hours, stirring
occasionally.
Combine cream cheese, sour
cream and flour. Arrange half
. the noodles in a greased baking
dish. Spread with half the cream
cheese mixture and cover with
hal' the meat mixture. Repeat.-
Sprinkle
epeat-Sprinkle with cheddar cheese.
Bake at 350 degrees F. for 20
minutes, 6 servings. .,

ASPARAGUS ROLLS
Trim crusts . from bread; roll
flat. Spread with a processed
cheese spread, Fold each slice'
.over a canned asparagus spear or
fresh cooked asparagus; secure'
with a pick.. Brush with butter
and sprinkle '• with Parmesan
cheese: Bake at 400 degrees F.
for l2 tntnutes.
Place on buttered bread rounds.
Broil -4 inches from heat for 5 to
6- minutes or till meat - is done.
Fill centres with chili sauce.
• CHEESE WAFERS
Cream 3 cup butter, '4 -cup
sh
4-cupst redded Cheddar - cheese, 1/3
cup blue cheese. Mikrin '- clove
.garlic, minced, 1 tsp. chives, -2
cups flour. Shape in 1'1 -inch
rolls; chill. Slice; bake at 375
degrees F., 8 to 10•minutes.
MEATBALLS
Cut. white bread slices into
1 -inch rounds using a cookie
cuter: Toast one .,side, butter,
Aber. Combine 1 pound ground`
jeef with 2 tbsp. diced onion, 1
tbsp. prepared mustard, 1 tbsp.
Worcestershire sauce and 1 tsp.
salt. Shape into 4Q balls. Make
indentation in centre of each.
STUFFED MUSHROOMS
Stern mushrooms; soak caps
in. boiling water 5 minutes. Chop
stems; cook with 1 tbsp. butter,
tbsp. chopped' onion • until
tender. Add' •2' tbsp. bread
crumbs, a 44:4 -oz. can chicken
spread, 2 tsp. mustard, '.4 tsp.
Worcestershire sauce. Fill caps;
broil.
