ODIC was held last Wednesday
t moon in the Legion Hall.
.Members reported .a satisfactory
attendance.
This was the first year that a
Blossom 'Tea was attempted by
tfne,:,group. In previous years, a
luncheon has been held about
'this timeof year.
" Committee Chairman for the
event was Mrs. H. Tichborne.

were Regent Mrs. Alfred Habel„
and Vice -Regent Mrs. Gt,rdon
Henderson as well- as `Mrs.
George Stokes, Mrs. Ralph
Neville ' and Mrs. Charles
Gibbons, who were in charge of
tickets.. 4
Decorations Were under the
Vinyl wallpaper,
direction of Mrs. R, Redmond.
Those in charge of the tea
table were Mrs. Charles Ruffel,
Mrs. t, W. Craigie, Mrs, •Mary
Holmes and Mrs. W, A. Stewart.
Pouring tea were Mrs. W,.. G.
MacEwan' and Mrs. Olive
Straughart.
Mrs. G. Emerson, ' Mrs, Frank
Walkom, Mrs'. Earl Allen and
Mrs. C. Cutt had charge of the
., kitchel.
▪ The bake table was convened
by Mrs. H. Dodd,. Miss Elder and.
• Mrs. C. R. Snell. Those in charge
of the Silent Auction were Mrs.
E. N. Sitter, Mrs. Shaver and
Miss L. McVicar.

Knox Church was held on May

Friendship 'and Service reported
a total of 96 visits. • • •
Mrs. Rivers announced .th'at
four boxes of Christmas cards
had been -pecked -and- "sent" -"-
overseas.
Miss Elder based the
devotional part of the program
on verses read from " the New
Testain-ent showing " that
reconciliation for the world
came through the sacrificial
death of Christ. We must strive
to overcome differ noes 'in .aces
and religions, -she said. She
closed with a prayer for
reconciliation, especially with
China.
Mrs. Enright's topic was.
China and the Chinese among
the nations of the world. In a
-clear and " interesting way she
traced the wars and revolutions
in Chinese "history from1850 to
the present situation ;with Free
China under. Chiag-Kai-Shek on
the island of Formosa and, the
republic of Communist China on
the Mainland.
D'istr`ibuting maps of Asia, she
outlined China's " present-day.
relations with her neighbouring
nations.
• Mrs. • J. Leitch, • as voting
delegate to the recent. Synodical
held -in Paris, gave interesting
comments on the two days'
discussions and worship services
'of that meeting. Women's
• M'issionary--Seeiety-members are
urged to "be informed".
Mrs. Rivers reported -briefly
on ' the Spring Rally held at
Seaforth which was addressed by
Mrs. Neal of Sarnia w hb spoke
on, "Making Excuses".
