PART VI -PARKING PROHIBITER OVER 24 HOURS
No person shall drive, park or leave standing anymotor vehicle upon any street in the Town -of Goderich for a period in
excess of twenty-four hours, or any tractor, trailer, farm machinery, farm wagon, farm implements, or any wheeled
vehicle, notwithstanding that the same may be incapable of being moved under its own power.
PART VII — LIMITED PARKING
(1) When properly worded signs have been erected, no person shall park a vehicle on the streets or parts of streets
. listed below for a period in excess of two (2) hours between the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 6.;00 p.m. inclusive on any
- day, exclusive of Wednesday, Sunday and holidays.
(2) Streets or Parts of Streets
(a) The Square on the outer circumference.
(b) On both sides of West Street from the Square to Waterloo Street. 1
(c) On both4sides of East Street from the Square to a point two hundred arid seventy-five (275) feet east of the •
intersection of the°Square"and East Street., 444., I•
(d) The east side of North Street from the Square to a point ninety five' (95) feet north of the. intersection of
the Square and North Street. ,
(e) The west side of North Street from the Square to a point one hundred and thirty-five (135) feet'north of the •

PART VIII
Whereas by virtue ,of the power vested in it by the Municipal Act, R.S.O. 1960, Chapter 249, Section 379 (1):.'
(105), the"Council of a local Municipality may pass by-laws providing, for the voluntary' payment 'out of Court in
cases where it is ,allege,d that the parking provisions of. By-law • regulating traffic within a Town have been
contravened; •
,Whereas it is deemed desirable to -institute an expedious pro edure for dealing with traffic offences; i
•
Now, therefore, the Municipal Council of the Corporation of the Town of Goderich enacts as follows:
y ,
(2) In all cases where an offence has been committed against the parking provisions of this by-law, the person so
charged with the offence may within 48 hours of the time' the offence is committed pay at the office of the Clerk -
of the Town of Goderich a penalty of $2.00.

(4) The Constable or other Police Officer alleging the offence shall make three copies of a notice indicating that the
traffic by-law has been violated and setting forth in the said notice the time and place at which voluntary payrnent
of the penalty, for the offence may be made.
One copy of the notice set,forth in paragraph (4) shall be attached to- the motor car or other vehicle which is -so
parked -that it infringes the traffic By-law of the Town of Goderich. In a moving offence, one copy of the notice
set forth in paragraph (4) shall be given to the driver, or rider of the vehicle which infringes the traffic By-law of
the Town of Goderich, one copy shall be delivered to the office of the Towp Clerk, and the third copy shall be
retained-• in the Police file.

Upon payment of the penalty set forth in paragraph (2), the person so charged. shall be issued a receipt for the
same and said receipt shall discharge the person guilty of the infraction of the By-law from any further prosecution -
for such, infraction.
The Clerk, shall, upon receiving payment of a penalty imposed for a traffic offence, notify. the Chief of Police of
the Town of Goderich of the payment,and by whom and at what time in respect of whom it was made.'
In all cases where a person accused by the Police of an infringement of the traffic by-law has not voluntarily paid
the penalty imposed in paragraph (2), within the time set forth for payment, a summons shall be issued to compel
his attendance before a Magistrate or other Justice of the Peace for the County of Huron to .answer•to`the said •
charge. -

•Any person who unlawfully removes from any vehicle the notice of infringement of the traffic by-law'fixer1 to it
,.by a Constable or other Police 'Officer, shall be guilty of an offence and may, upon conviction thereof before a
Magistrate or Justice of the Peace for the County of Huron, be liable to a fine of riot less than $10.00 and not
more than $50.00, exclusive of costs, or in default, to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 21 days, such fine
and costs to be recoverable under the provisions of the Summary Convictions Act.
10 All penalties collected under the By-law shall be part of the general revenue of the Town of Goderich.
PART IX — TRUCK ROUTE
(1) Truck Route means those. streets or parts of streets within the limits of the Town of Goderich hereafter specified,
where suitable signs have been erected and are on display designating the'streets as a Truck Route:

PART X —PENALTIES
(1)
Any person violating the provisions of this By-law other than the provitions contained in Sections 7 and 8 of Part
IV and Part. IX shall be subject to a penalty of not more than $10.00 for the first offence and not more than •
$50.00 for every subsequent offence, exclusive of costs.
(2) Any person violating the provisions of Part IX of this By-law shall be subject to a penalty of not less than $10.00
and not more than $50.00 inclusive of costs.•

Any person violating the provisions of Section 7 and Section 8 of Part IV shall be subject to the penalty provided
for such violation in The Highway Traffic Act.
(4) Where h penalty is provided'•ih this By-law for a first, secbnd or third or subsequent offence, the words "first",
"second", "third" and "subsequent" shall relate only to offences committed in any twelve month period;
By-law No. 40 of 1960 and• amendments thereof, ,No. 1^4 of 1952, No. 8 of 1951, No. 27 of 1954, No. 38 of
1960, and No. 28 of 1958, of the Oorporation of the Town of Goderich are hereby repealed.
(3)
The proylskiiins of this By -1 iwtshall not become effective until approved -by the Ontario Department of
Transport.
