All Star teams as they all harie
won the tlrst round in the
playoffs..

A reminder that this weekend
is WINTER CARNIVAL.
Goderich Minor Hockey
Supporters Club [has sponsored a
HARD TIMES Dance at the
arena auditorium Saturday,
February 21. Lunch is included
with the ticket.
Also this Saturday, Goderich
Minor Hockey Association has
scheduled five exhibition Squirt
games against Mount ;.Clemens,
Michigan. 'Gardiner's• Dairy vs
Black Hawks, Goderich Electric
vs Scamps, Kentucky . Fried
Chicken vs Junior Leafs, Mills
Motors vs Rangers.
• These are all house league
'teams and the final game will be
our Legion Squirt -All Stars
against Mount Clemens All Stars.
MITE HOUSE LEAGUE
Playoffs have now started in
this division and on Saturday
morning Goderich Electric and
MacDonald Marine came
through with -3-o victories.,
In the first game, Don Elliot
scored. all three ..-goals-- for.
MacDonald 'Marine and' Bradley
Anderson had' _the shutout.
Legion Sailors' coach,. Mary
Kolkman, stated she will have
her team up for the next game
so we can expect the Sailors to
tie the series.
The ' other game, Goderich
Electric got two goals from Tom
Fincher and a 'single -goal by
Terry Shoemaker. Shawn, Trail
was in the nets for the winners
and getting a shutout.

were defeated 9.4 as the Legion
All 'Star, Squirt team had made
earlier commitments .to play an
exhibition game against Exeter
the same day.
Goals for' Goderich were
Richard. Rawson with three and
Leroy Meriam getting the. other
;goal. Dennis LeBlanc picked up
three assists` and Danny
Wilkinson two for the Ibsexs.

PEE WEE HOUSE LEAGUE'
In the final two games of the
• Pee Wee House League schedule,
MacDonald Marine and Baird
Motors came through with wins.
First game Ken Kelly got two
goals and Jim Riley, and Brian
Meriam singles for MacDonald
Marine as they wort 4-1: Only
goal for Goderich Motors was
Bill Goddard.
Tony. Vollick and Leonard,
Kolkman scored for Baird
Motors as they won 2-1. Scott
Miller got the only goal for
Schaeffer White Dots.
Final • standings were
MacDonald. Marine, 13;
Schaeffer, White Das, 8; Baird
Motors, 8 and Goderich Motors,

• In a regular scheduled Squirt
League (W.O.A.A.) game the
Mite All Stars lost a very 'close
game to Adastral Park 3-2..Goal
Scorers for Clinton were J.
Williams, two,- Kingsley and R.
Mason getting the winning ,goal.
Legion Mite All Stars opened the
scoring with 'a goal by Don
Elliot, Steven Arbour assisting.
.Tieing it' Cie for Goderieh was
Larry Daer unassisted. ' •
SQUIRT HOUSE LEAGUE
We have now entered into the
playoffs -in this division and the
.__converter- ' has*-- instructed the
__referees to callpenalties as they
were not doing this through the
regular schedule.
In the first game Gardiner's
Dairy and'Mills Motors played to
1-1 tie.. Goal scorers were Larry
Daer for Gardener's and Brian
Harris for Mills.
Goderich Electric won a close
game against Kentucky Fried
Chicken' 1=0. Scoring the -only
goal was Rick Healy and drawing
the assist, Robert Thurland:

Stoneybrook . edged Conklin
Lumber Juvenile All Stars 4-3.
Next game will be played: in
Strathroy.
Be a fan, drive down and give
them your support. The game
starts at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday.

Monday evening the Lion's
Pee Wee All ' Stars lost to
Stoneybrook 7-3 and the Legion
Bantam . All Starslost a close
game 3-1. Both these teams
travel to Strathroy for the
second game of the series, two
out of, three.
Pee Wees play Saturday
morning, and Bantams, Thursday
night.
Kinsmen ,Midgets play .their
.first game against Bryon Friday
night at 8:30 at the Goderich
arena.

close game, 3-2y Goal scoring
was all by the first line, „Lee
Arbour, Doug Marshall and

formed' "B" team walloped -St. •
Mary's 11-1 and • now have
entered in a tournament in St.
Mary's. The Supporters Clue' are
giving them financial assistance.

Last week in Mrs. Shaddick's
grade eight class we had two
students a from the StraStratfordTeacher's.. College. They were
Mrs. Hilts and Miss Ritchie:

over Exeter. The South Huron
team scored only ,,one point in
the first half when Goderich led
24-1, in their most impressive
performance yet this season. The
Vikings finally began to find the
mark and' round off their plays
under the enemy basket.
•Charlie Tu'riand led with 16
points. He also gathered in 13
rebounds and generally played
an aggressive game.
Steve Stringer, who scored
eight 'points, worked the ball
well• in setting up the offensive
patterns. Doug 'Fisher hooped
nine points and Big Brian Scully
eight for the Vikings. •,

The Junior ,Wing Public
Speaking "Contest' was held
Friday, -Feb., 13and the winner
was Eleanor McMillan who
spoke• about friendship. Second
place. was captured -by Wendy
Thompson and in third place
was Pauline.Hall.
• Last week there were two
student teachers in our wing,
Miss Bradley and Miss Tout from
Stratfo.rd Teachers' College,
On Monday, rades 4 and 5
held:-a_su.ccessful bake sale. The
' proceeds 'will be used, for the

league games were_ cancelled as -
the Pee Wee All Stars and
' Bantari • All Stars played their
semi-finals against Stoneybrook.
