I hope you were all pleasantly
surprised with our "First Annual
Santa Parade" — wasn't it just
GREAT?
Just think — if Mrs. Blue
• hadn't said "Let's get this thing
started" all my write-ups for this
parade would have gone by just
as last, year's when no one spoke
up. •
By the time we had our first"
meeting Mrs. B. had great plans
for this year and Many to come.
, "I'm going to get Santa a new
-suit and a spankin' new sleigh
and reindeer. We'll have a Santa
float such as Goderich has never
had''' and she was so right. It was
beautiful and we have never had
one to compare with it.

Wh'ere ;ye hoped to nave a few
floats to make a nucleus for
coming .Years, we were
overWhelmed with the response,
once we had the main float and
a few more enthusiasts to belP "
spread the word.
You could see that a lot of
work And planning was needed
to "get the show on the road"
and to many it was a new
experience, a new challenge.
Some of our workers had
never used papier rnache and
wire and goo before — they were
in for a surprise. How did you
like that purple cow? THAT was
a first experience and they had a
lot of laughs creating it.
And Hi Diddle Diddle when
you think of the size of THAT
cow and its component's — such
as the dog and t and dish and
the spoon etc. — there was a
LOT of wor e and it took a
few to do it.
I think the "C stmas on the
Farm" float w certainly a
creation. Can't you just picture
Ewan Ross and Earl Williams
and Ken Boyce just having a
great time finding all that stuff
and setting it up?
Oh, I could go on and on —1
was so excited about them! But
