CHARGE THE BEACH HEAD
, With b`Dorntar" now claiming
jurisdiction over our South
Beach; with the Ben Homans
having always claimed ownership
4of all river -mouth property, a
mile of North sand beach, Indian
'island and so on; with Colborne
Township refusing to open
existing right-of-ways to river or
lake -front, and Dicky Robarts
attempting to block -the South
Beach Road., "Perturbed," as
one of our shy citizens signed his
(or her?) self in. last week's
Signal -Star, would appear to
have sound reasons for being just
that way.
In the meantime, let's ALL
get involved. Phone, wire or
write Lands & Forests, Dept of
Transport, our M.P.'s and
M•P.P.'s. Raise hell (non-violent)
and scream -- loud and clear and
often!

IMMIGRANTS
I would like to contact
readers of your newspaper who r;
Came to Canada from the British
Isles prior to 1940 as child
Goderich area, residents could immigrants. • •
take a look at the work of `Rev. These were children and
Robert Wright of Welland. This youths brought out byvarious

in telling of their experiences for
research which may be
published, should reply,.
I would especially like to hear
from any who were among the

after World War I, arriving on

Lands and Forests Minister Rene
Brunelle with a petition bearing
no more than 2000 • names
objecting to wealthy
land -owners barring the public
from their "God-given beaches."
Ignoring trespassing signs,
APEEL members have
repeatedly tested ownership of
so called "water -rights" of lake
and river frontage below
"high-water" mark. Local' I would also like to hear from
magistrates have dismissed descendants of children brought
trespassing charges saying
ownership of beach areas is still
in doubt.
Public involvement, as
eloquently urged by Ray
Robinson and "Perturbed" '-
the latter, apparently, would just
as soon not get involved himself
(or herself) - is the only
solution open to residents of this
area.
I feel the situation, come
spring, calls for a fearless frontal
attack on North Shore defences
by our local Power Boat

Mayor Mills, and assisted by
private adventurers. I'll supply

continually increasing
employment of mechanical
facer -canceller equipment to
speed the flow of mail, Canada's

January.7, 1970.
The current orange -colored
stamp in use since November
1st, 1968 will be changed to
