Miss Moore spoke to some lengths n the project and the way it worked in other municipalities and answered questions from the members of council on the project. Council felt problems would be created with administration of such a program and '" was informed by Mr. Murphy the group would do all it could to assist council in setting up and. a operating the program. Miss Moore and Mr. Streich pointed out the council did not have to administer- the service but could have another group do the work and then purchase the service from that group and still be eligible for the full 80 percent grant. The group is' supported by all major service clubs and women's. groups in town as well as the Huron County Health Unit; the medical staff of Goderich Alexandra Marine and General Hospital; most of the Goderich churches; the Children's Aid;, Goderich Psychiatric Hospital; and the board , .of Alexandra Marine and General Hospital. - Council is to consider the matter and meet with the group at a later date. o • outdoor sports facility -v ithin the town to include such activities as outdoor skating, tobogganing, skiing and snowmobiling. With regard to ' the snowmobile menace, the Recreation Board has called a Public Meeting to be held at MacKay Hall, Saturday, December 13, at 7 p.m. All owners and operators of snow vehicles have been invited to express their opinions on finding a suitable area within the town on which to run their machines. It was felt by board members that opinions of machine operators should be solicited to help . the recreation committee determine the need for a location suitable for snowmobile -use. The success or failure of the Saturday meeting will have a large bearing on the action taken by the Recreation Board on this matter. ' In both Canada and the U.S. revocation or suspension of a person's driving licence does not always stop him driving. Many drivers simply ignore removal of their driving privileges, and go right on driving. It is not practicable to follow up all licence suspensions, -to see if they are being observed, and infringements usually come to light only when drivers are stopped by " police for questioning on some other traffic matter.
