ISN'T IT TRUE
At last our exams are over!
Except for homework, once
more we are free to do „ as we
please at night.
Homework is a bother when
the TV is on and it's your
,favorite show. It's good when
you have nothing else to do.
People think' it's good when
we are in trouble or being a
nuisance. They always say, "Go
and do your *homework," but
when you don't have any it
backfires and you find yourself
• outside taking the clothes .in off
the line or doing some tiny odd
thing like that.
Well, isn't it true what people
sometimes put us through.

LETTER TO THE EDITOR t.
Dear Editor: !
What does Xmas mean? In my
opinion "X" stands for the
unknown. The people that put
an "X" instead of "Christ" in
Christmas show their ignorance
as well as; irreverence. Christmas
is the celebration of Christ's
birth. It is not, just another day!
It is Christ's day!
Let's keep it that way!

Claus
BY 'ANDREA. WIWAI'S.
September is gone and November is here.
And slowly but surely' -hristmas draws near.
Susie my sister so young and so smart, -
Is trying to be good with all her heart.
Her letter to Santa we started to write,
And we had to make sure it was worded just right.
Wh rii all of a sudden to me she did say, •
"I heard that there was no real Santa, today.
Please tell me the truth Andy and tell me it straight,
I'm not so small anymore, you know I'm near eight."
The room was all decked out with streamers and, holly,
And there by the tree stood Santa so jolly.
He was made of paper. I know not from where he came,
And over the years his left foot became lame.
Susie broke through my thoughts, and she said once more.
"My presents each year really come from a store."
Taking her into my arms, I said "Susie you're right,"
But I've got a true storyto tell you tonight,
The true meaning of Christmas is more precious than'gold,
.And for thousands of years it's been told and retold.
A long time ago, in a• place far away,
A little boy baby in a manger lay,
His Mother was Mary so meek and so mild,
And the name of Jesus, she gave to her child.
And shepherds and kings heard of His birth,
And much joy and happiness there was here on earth.
And they came from near and they came from far,
.Following the light of one great star.
And they brought Jesus gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh, ,
And now each year at Christmas, we celebrate His birth.
Susie the birth of Jesus was the first gift to mankind,
Do you see little Sister, What's on. your mind?
Can you understand what I've been trying to say?
That there really is a Santa, in around about way.
When God gave us His Son Jesus, He did it at night,
If you stop and think, you'll know that I'm right.
And each Christmas Eve, when you're all tucked in bed,
Did you ever see Santa leaving you dolls or a sled?
So even if the presents do come from a store,
Can you believe in the Spirit of Christmas; if not in• Santa anymore?
For Christmas is a season that should last all year;
Because everyone's so happy they have no'time for tears.
Peace on earth goodwill towards men, for ever and ever and ever
Amen.
So now dear little Sister do you understand,
She looked at me and smiled and said, "Sis jj's just grand,
Hockey
I'll always love Santa for he's a jolly old chap,"
And ever so slowly, she climbed from my lap.
•
And then together, to bed, up the stairs.
The following is this I, paused and I listened as she said her prayers.
