Bridal .couples choose fall dates for weddings

The bride is the- daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Sampson,
Goderich. The groom is the son
of Mr. and Mrs. J. C. ,Westlake,
Willowdale.
Candelabra With white tapers,
flower arrangements of pink,
white and green tinted mums
with ivy, , decorated the church.
Given in marriage by - her
father,, the bride wore a
floor -length gown of chantilly
lace over taffeta. Capri lace
edged the scalloped neckline and
wrist -length sleeves. The
cathedral train cascaded from a
bow at the back. Satin roses held
her headdress of four -tiered
tulle, and she carried a
renaissance bouquet of pink and
-white roses against a background
of pink and white miniature
carnations intertwined with ivy.
Mrs. • , Norris Sampson,
sister=in-law of the bride, was
matron of honor. Bridesmaids
were Mrs. Jack Kopstein,
London, and Anne, Westlake,
Willowdale, sister of the groom.
All were gowned alike in
floor -length A-line sea green
peau ' de soie, scalloped
three-quarter sleeves trimmed
with capri lace and matching
hair bow. They carried green
tinted carnations centred with
brother of the bride, and Ivan
Raley, all of Goderich, ushered
guests.
Mrs. J. A. Snider presided at
the organ and Mrs. L. Warr sang
The Wedding Prayer.
A reception followed at the
church hall with the bride's
mother receiving in a dress and
coat of rose brocade with
matching accessories and a
corsage of tiny pink roses. The
groom's mother chose a
two-piece turquoise suit of silk
shantung. She wore matching
accessories and a corsage of
white roses. a -
A telegram of congratulations
was received from relatives in
England.
For travelling, the bride wore
a princess style navy wool
coat -dress with white accessories
and a white orchid corsage.
Out-of-town guests attended
from Waterloo, Windsor,
Toronto, Montreal and
Wingham.
The couple will reside in
London. —
The groom's parents.
entertained the wedding party
after the rehearsal at the home
of Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Gilders.
Prior to her marriage the
bride was honored at a shower at
the home of Miss, Robina
Comrie, given by Miss Comrie
and Mrs. Norris Sampson. Mrs.
Gladys Rivett also'held a shower
at the home of Mrs. G. Sampson.
LAITHWAITE -- MacEACHERN
Candelabra, carnations and
ivy formed the setting in Mount
Forest United Church on
Saturday, October 25, when the
Rev. George Wright',beard the
marriage vows of Julia Bertha
MacEachern and George
Anthony.Ltithwaite.
The wedding music was
played by Mrs. LaVerne Weber
and the soloist was Miss Linda
McKinley.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Roger MacEachern,
Mount Forest,, and the groom is
the son of Mr. and Mrs. Clayton
Laithwaite, Goderich.
Given in marriage by her
father, the bride wore a formal
gown of fine lagoda,
re -embroidered lace forming the
'yoke with high neckband and
the flaring short sleeves frosted
with the same lace. A headpiece
of sea pearls held a Spanish lace
mantilla and she carried a
bou .udt of -.white roses and
tinted carnations:
The maid of honor was Gayle
Turner, Orangeville, and the
bridesmaids were Susan and
Donna MacEachern, sisters of
the bride. They were gowned
alike in moss green chiffon
styled with satin -trimmed
empire waistlines, ruffles at. the
neckline and long sleeves edged
witl? ruffles. They wore green
flowered headpieces with
matching veils and carried
green -tinted carnations.
The groomsman was Bill
Anderson, Goderich, and the
ushers were Ken MacEachern,
brother of the bride, and Arnold
Mr. d Mrs. G. A. Laithwaite
Laithwaite, brother of ' the
groom, Guelph.
The wedding dinner 'was
served in the Mount Forest
Church auditorium. Out-of-town
guests were from Hamilton,
Toronto, Preston Windsor,
Goderich and Detroit", Mich.
For the wedding trip to
Washington and the Eastern
United States, the bride donned
