Mrs. Shirley Baechler swings into winter in the oewest of all rages, the maxi -coat. Worn here with a
smart fur hat, a long colorful muffler and a pair of bright mitts, the maxi -coat looks warm and
snug for the blustery days ahead. Incidentally, there area few maxi -coats on Goderich streets this
winter but most of them are worn by the junior set. Don't be surprised if your young lady has one
of these smart coats on her Christmas list!

The Industrial Therapy
department of Goderich
Psychiatric Hospital, volunteers
and the nursing staff combined
their efforts last Wednesday
afternoon to stage the third
annual fashion show, bazaar and
tea in the auditorium of the
hospital.
A good crowd of interested
women attended both the
afternoon and evening
performances of the fashion
show. Many of the guests
stopped to shop at the
well -stocked booths set up by
the staff.
There was a wide selection of
everything in the line of plush
toys, including some of the most
personable frogs and turtles ever
to hit the market. Puppets
seemed to be big sellers too, as
were Ghristmas stockings for the
young fry.
Decorations, arranged by the
nursing' staff, were in keeping
with the Christmas theme. Three
huge decorated trees turned the
stage into a Christmas fairyland.
Lunch consisting of tea and
cookies was taken with plenty of
conversation in the pleasant
atmosphere of the bazaar.
Just outside the auditorium
was a showing of some of the
fine furniture refinishing done
by the men in the woodworking
department at the hospital. A
complete dining room set had
been sanded and refinished to a
flowing soft satin lustre and a
huge ornate chair, painstakingly
sanded and refinished,' was on
display with its newly
upholstered seat and back.
Mrs. D. J. Patterson, president of the volunteer association at the Goderich Psychiatric Hospital
(left) and Mrs. Raymond Redmond, co-ordinator of services at the hospital, discuss some last
minute details concerning the fashion show which was a part df the bazaar and tea last Wednesday
afternoon at GPH. Mrs. Patterson also provided the commentary for the fashion show which drew
a large crowd of interested women.
