Need breakfast
to keep going
"I want 'to lose weight, so I've
been going without breakfast."
"I don't have time to eat in the
morning." "I can't be bothered
with breakfast. What's so wrong
with that?"
What's wrong is this: Studies
shaw that young men or women
-lower -their mental and physical '
efficiency during morning hours
by going without breakfast.
School children and teenagers,
particularly, show undesirable
effects: they simply cannot
work as well. Those who do not
have breakfast are more careless,
inattentive and listless, especially
during the later morning hours.
Nutritionists at Macdonald
Institute, University of Guelph,
point out that getting up just
fifteen minutes earlier to eat
breakfast can give you those
valuable nutrients necessary for
vitality and energy during the
day. A prepared cereal - or
soft -cooked egg, juice, toast and
a beverage is a quick but
nutritious start. If you can spare
more time, anything from bacon
and eggs to a sandwich or a
cheeseburger is suitable. Simply
try to include these foods in
your breakfast menu: a juice or
fruit; a protein such as eggs,
cheese or meat, bread and a
, beverage, preferably milk.
Pour a very strong salty
mixture down the kitchen sink
to prevent grease from bloCking
up the system — "factually bans
the odours too!
