Walkom for opening her home
for the meeting.

introduced next October by the
Canada Post Office will provide
complete privacy and save time
for the millions of Canadians
who purchase post office money
orders.
Under the new system, an
imprinting machine will. enter
such items as date and amount,
with the personal details to be
filled in by the purchaser in
privacy ° and at a time most
convenient to him or Tier. This
will also result in a saving of
time for both the customer and
the post office. -

Mrs. Arnold Miller and Mrs.

Dyke; parcel post, Miss Lily
Allin and Mrs. Amy Armstead;
kitchen, Mrs. `Norman Redford.
, Each lady who attended was
presented with a penny bank for
her children's use.
Members of the Home League
are drawn from all
denominations in Goderich and
the outlying areas. They report
they were "very pleased" with
the success of their annual
bazaar and tea.

Christmas recipe exchange
A nice moist bread, to have on hand when those.
pre -Christmas visitors arrive to have a look at your
Christmas tree:
CRANBERRY NUT BREAD
1 cup whole cranberries
'/4 cup sugar
3 cups sifted, all-purpose flour
4 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup sugar

'A cup,butter, melted
1 tablespoon grated orange rind
'h, cup chopped walnuts
1 beaten egg
3/a cup milk
'Y4 cup orange juice

Halve cranberries and mix with 1/4 cup sugar. Sift
flour, flaking powder, salt and 3/4 cup sugar; stir in orange
rind and- -nut&—Com-bir a remail ing--i-ngredie-rrts.-Add to
flour mixture and stir only enough to moisten. Fold in
cranberries. Turn into greased 9 x'5 -inch loaf pan. Bake
at 350 degrees until a skewer inserted comes out clean
(65 to 70 minutes). This freezes well.

COCONUT FRUIT SQUARES
2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
'/ teaspoon salt
'/4 cup sugar
`2/3 cup butter
11/2 cups shredded coconut
'/ cup chopped walnuts
11/2 cups chopped dates
3/4 cup chopped candied cherries
'/z cup chopped mixed peel
1 15 -ounce can sweetened
condensed milk
Mix flour, salt and sugar. Cut in butter until mixture
resembles coarse bread crumbs; pat in bottom .of 9 x
13 -inch pan. Bake at 350 deg. F until lightly browned
(10 to 15 minutes). Combine remaining ingredients and
spread -evenly over baked base. Return to oven and bake
at 350 deg. F until lightly browned (25 to 30 minutes).
Makes about 4 dozen squares. This freezes well. • .
