Round and About
W.ith.
Martha..
Last weekend wound up a few
of many interesting events of
our Fall Season. The Colborne
Ladies are now catching their
` breath and realizing that they
have a TIGER BY THE TML!
Their Christmas Fair, has
grown by leaps and bounds and
this year really topped
everything. Other organizations
can learn a thing or two from a
these hardworking gals. I th'nk
one of the main reasons for their
success could be called -
TOGETHERNESS! I don't mean
that they are that chum y, but
they do work t ether
beautifully and with
co-operation and good .planning
— how can you fail? Good going
Girls!
Another highly successful
event = was the Art Seminar
held in the Goderich Art Club
rooms. With Alex. Millar teaching
a group of 30 or more — quite a
large class, but Mr. Millar is very
well versed` with all facets and .w
media -of the art world so was
able • to resolve a lot of the
problems of the artists
attending.
Two days and an evening is
quite a good stretch and
everyone was tired — but, I ,
believe they felt they could go at
their paintings with a little more
vim and vigour — and —
imagination.
This Saturday sees another
Bazaar or Christmas Fair — or
whatever, at the Knox Church. I
think • you will find a lot of
thought, planning. — and hard
work has also gone into this once,
and the ladies Of the Arthur
Circle are looking forward to a
big attendance: They will lave a
beautiful surprise for you and
this will be a "Fair" to
remember. Don't miss it.
There's also a big dance this
Friday nite at the Harborlite Inn
and the Foresters Group of
+ Benmiller will be happy to see
you there. Their affairs 'are •
always fun and , it seems
everyone enjoys them so well
that they look .forward to the
next one.
My goodness - one, two —
three blanks in my calendar!
How about that! Wednesday
Nov. 12 will be the Bazaar at
Holmesville held in the.rehurch
;:end the town hall. This is
niotherr . big, Bazaar that is well
attended e"Very y'e f.

Those farm girls sure like to
show the town ladies a good
afternoon or evening, and they
certainly go all out to have lots
of goodies and fine gift items. So
be sure to go for that otherjift,
or jar of jelly that is SO goo0.
Last week 'I said our Santa
Parade was shaping up pretty
good — well, it is coming along
just GREAT — with more floats
to be heard from,
After that boo-boo last week
where I had the little dog
laughing at Humpty-Dumpty
instead of with the dish running
off with the spoon, I was glad to
have someone call and say, "we
are going , to do 'Hi Diddle
Diddle.' That made me feel
that someone had really noticed
and the 'boo' didn't matter. So
what are you going to do?
Here are a feW already taken
— Ther Cat and. the Fiddle of
course; Frosty the Snowman;
The Snow • Queen; Charlie,
Snoopy and Friends; Bo Peep
and the Pied, Piper; The Old
Woman in the Shoe — with
troubles — and many others.
I mentioned before that the
little ones will have a chance to
talk to Santa HIMSELF — and
THAT is something that hasn't
happened in Goderich for a good
many years. Santa will be
enthroned on Che .stage at the
high school, GDCI auditorium,
on the Sunday afternoon. -
Saturday he is too busy with the
Parade — and going to the.
hospitals and rest homes etc. So,
Sunday afternoon for the young
ones — the Believers —
pre-school and lower graders
and I'm sure a lot of mothers are
going to be real pleased that
they don't have to stand out in
the cold with their little ones.
I•mentioned that we were into
the making of `trees' etc. - well,
the Goderich Little Theatre is up
to their ears in stage props,
making sets, painting, practicing,
sewing, fitting, making a mess
with glue and paper and invite
you to join us! It just seems too
bad to keep all the fun to
ourselves — so come and help
wear your old jeans and sweat
shirt and come over' to ,THE
BARN and we will put you to
work. Season tickets are now on
sale and the first play is Nov. 21
and 22 in the big auditorium of
GDCI.
This ---first play----rt-ten-by--a-
local man, directed by a local
man, music by one of our own
rising musicians and the actors
and actresses and workers
behind the scene, are. all
Goderich peoples
But best of all, not only is this
a terrific production which you
and your children will enjoy, it
is a fun play that will stay with
you long after opening night.
Barnaby will probably make you
jump out of your seat and Bozo
and `friend' will keep you in
stitches and the kids will help
solve the" problems of the
evening — much to the
enjoyment of everyone present.
lie sure to get your season ticket
— right away — we don't want
ANYONE to miss this delightful
opener of the Little Theatre
season.
There were some wonderful
costumes wandering the streets
Hallowe'en nite and I was sorry
that so few competed for a nice
prize at the Arena. The five
children who Wan them Were
very happy — except the' wee
Allin girl. By tie' time the prizes
were given out she was tired and
that was THAT. She pulled her
clown hat down over her face
and howled for mommy.— And
so it goes!
Love, Martha.

TED ALAN WORTH, Organist

,The Community Convert
Association Presents Ted Alan
Worth, organist, in the first.
concert of the season on
Saturday, November 15, in the
small auditorium of the GDCI at
8:15 p.m.
Because most organs are in
churches, and because most
Canadians associate the sound of
the organ with_ weddings,
funerals, and hymns, very few of
this ,. country's most gifted
musicians choose the pipe organ
as their special instrument. In
fact, .the majority of the "o'rgan
world" is composed of people
who rarely plsys•="- `anr1 organ
except on Sundays, before a
congregation. Ted Alan Worth is
one of America's most brilliant
virtuoso organists.
Ilere is one artist who must he
seen to- be believed. His relish for
music is highly contagious, and
his enjoyment and sensitivity
reveal the significant content of
a piece of music visually as well
as aurally. Audiences cannot •
help but respond to the spirit of
a composer as this young
"musical, phenomenon" totally
immerses himself in rhythm and
sound, .and becomes an
undisputed. prince of "The King
of Instruments."
The "style" of. Ted Alan
Worth Is distinctive and
unforgettable. It may be
characterized by the . words:
"Total Conviction:" He knows
how music should sound, and he
knows how to produce that
sound. His playing is engineered
for human ears.
