varied shades of white and pink
on 'Saturday, September 20
when Velma Doreen Culbert
became the bride of Donald
Forbes McNeil.
The Reverend Mr.
McCleneghan officiated at the 2
p.m. double ring nuptials.
Organist for the traditional
music -Was Mrs. Gerald Dustow.
• The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs, Nelson Culbert, RR
2, Aubiun. The groom is the son -
of Mr. and Mrs. Clifford McNeil,
RR 6, Goderich.
The bride was given in
marriage by her father and chose
a floor length gown of white
peau de broche styled on
princess lines. The rounded
neckline and elbow length
sleeves weie enhanced by
delicate French guiper lace. A
full train of raschel lace cascaded
from the shoulders and her three
tiered bouffant veil was held in
place by 'a single organza rose.
The bride carried a white bible
crested with pink carnations and
dainty white streamers accented
with miniature lovers bows.
Matron of honor was Mrs.
Glen Huston of Ripley, sister of
the bride. Her dress of blue .peau
de broche was styled on lines
similar to the bride's. Her full
length train fell from the
shoulders and her head piece was
a miniature bow. She carried a
nosegay in varied shades of pink
carnations.
Bridesmaids were Miss Carol
Culbert . and Miss Bonnie
Culbert, Dungannon, cousins of
the bride. They were dressed
identically. to the matron of
honor..
Best man -was Bill Crozier.
Goderich. Ushers were Bob and
Glen _McNeil, Goderich, bruthers
of the groom.
For a reception at the United
Church parlour the mother of
the bride chose a fitted dress of
pale turquoise whipped crepe
with. navy accessories anda
corsage of white carnations. The
groom's mother chose a light
blue and silver brocade dress
with matching accessories and a
corsage of pink roses. -
For the lioneymbon trip to
Northern Ontario, Niagara Falls
and other areas, the bride
selected a powder blue fwo-piece
Fortrel suit with navy
accessories and a pink orchid
corsage.
The couple will live on the
groom's farm, RR 6, Goderich.
Prior to the wedding the bride
to be was honored at showers
given by Miss Sharon Spivak and
Mrs. Sandra Crozier, and at a
community shower at
Dungannon United Church.

of Laurentian University,
Sudbury.

The bride, a graduate of
Laurentian University, is the.
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley
E. Brown of Sudbury. "i h4r

University of Guelph, is the son

reside in Sudbury.

Janice Sharilyne Currey and
Wayne Norman Glazier were
married in a double ring
ceremony at North Street
United Church on August 29.
Rev. Donald MacDonald
conducted the 7p -.m. service.
The bride is the daughter of
Mrs. W. A. Currey, Goderich,
and the laic>, William A. Currey.
The groom is the son of Mrs. R.
Glazier, Goderich, and the late
Russell Glazier.

Hanke in London • ceremony
Of local interest, the
beautiful late summer wedding
of Jessie Isabel Clutton, younger
daughter of Mrs.'Clutton and the
late Mr. Hamilton M. Clutton.
and ,Gary Fresiexicit, Hanke„
eldest son of Mr': • and Mrs.
• Frederick Hanke, all of London,
was solemnized in First , Baptist
Church there recently. Rev:
Ralph Cummings officiated.
Given in marriage by her only
brother, Stewart Clutton, of
London, the bride wore an
elegant gown of white lagoda
crepe, with a wide band of lace
from the base of the narrow
stand-up collar to the botton of
the hem of an A-line skirt. Lace
again adorned the sleeves and
bottom of the train, which
cascaded from her shoulders.
Her triple -tiered veil of silk
illusion which hung to her
shoulders was held in place by a
floral headpiece featuring tiny
carnations, picking up the
colours of . the attendants'
gowns. She carried a bouquet of
orchids, stephanotis and white
and purple heather brought
home for the bouquet by two
friends who visited Scotland, this
summer.
. Attending her sister as
matron of honour was Mrs. Ron
E. Pajot, of Scarboro, dressed in
a full-length princess -lined gown
of magenta crepe.
• The bridesmaids were Mrs.
Thomas Scott, Miss Judy
Lockery, cousin of the bride and
Miss Karen Hanke of- Windsor,
cousin of .the groom.
Cheryl -Anne Clutton, niece of
the bride was flowergirl.
All wore identical bright rose
gowns, styled as the matron of
honour's.
-Each attendant wore a
tailored bow in ,her hair.
matching ,her gown, and all
carried pompom .effect flower
bouquets -of .carnations and fern,
suspended from the wrist by
ribbons.
Randy Hanke was his
brother's best Man. Ushering
guests were Dennis Hanke,
brother of the groom, Richard
Morrison of Windsor and David
Scott of London.
The wedding music was
played by Mrs. G. C. Gordon,
and Mrs. Douglas Avery of
Norwich sang The Lord's Prayer
and The Wedding Prayer.

Panorama Restaurant, the

Mrs. Harold Kelly and her
daughter, Miss Joan Kelly, were
co -hostesses at a delightful
shower for the bride.
Windsor and London friends
had a noon luncheon and shower -
at the Hanke home in London.
Miss Rhea Stewart N of
London, had a beautiful
luncheon and shower at her
home on Essex Street.
Mrs. Thomas Scott held a
kitchen shower at her home at
115 Cherryhill Blvd. -
The Sorority, to which the
bride belonged, held a pantry
shower at the home of Miss
Dana Clark.
The London Detective office,
where the bride was a secretary
since graduating from High
School, held a .delightful party
for • her and made the
presentation of a lovely gift.
Mrs. Ron E. Pajot entertained
the bridal attendants 'and
mothers of the bride and groom
at a noon luncheon at the Latin
Quarter.
Mrs. Clutton held a lovely
trousseau tea honouring her
daughter at her home at 105
Cherryhill' Blvd. With her
receiving the guests were the
bride, the groom's mother, Mrs.
Fred Hanke, and the groom's
grandmother, Mrs. Fred Hanke,
Sr. of Windsor.
The bride's only two nieces,
Misses Christine and
•Cheryl -Anne Clutton were in
charge of the guest book.

Harrison - Slater vows exchanged
at St. George's- Anglican church
St. George's Anglican Church
was decorated with candelibra
and bro-fize single daisy mums on
the altar and with gold and green
bows on the pews on Saturday,
September 6, 1969, when Joyce
Marie Slater became the bride of
Kenneth Harrison.
Rev. Garwood G. Russell
officiated at the 2 p.m,
double -ring nuptials. Organist
was Miss Marion Alduos and
soloist was Grant Ellison. Music
was the Wedding Prayer, Ave
Maria and traditional wedding
marches for the processional and
recessional.
• The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. James Slater,
Goderich. The groom is the son
of Mrs. Myrtle Harrison and the
late James Harrison.
The bride was given in
marriage by her father and wore
• an empire style gown of white
• trevira crepe, with long tapered
sleeves, stand-up collar and a
short ,train and a Juliette cap of
° the same treVira crepe which was
enhanced with stephanotis and
English ivy. She wore a
full-length veil of bridal tulle arid

stephanotis and English ivy.
