us, then on the 29th, the
Christmas Fair at Carlow.

opens tenders .for drain work

West Wawanosh Township
Council met in regular session on
Tuesday evening, October 7th,
at 8 p.m. in the Half All
members were in attendance.
The minutes of the regular
September meeting, and a
Special meeting held September
11ti1 were read "and adopted on
motion of Councillors McDonald
and Foran.
By -Law No. 12, 1969, 'Was
given first, second and th'
reading and . finally passed on
motion of Councillors Aitc son
and McDonald. This b -law
-authorizes the collecting of rates
for the year 1969. Following are
some of those rates: County -
22:2; Township' - 17 and 19;
Elementary School - 15.2 and
16,8; Secondary School - 15.4
and 17; Separate School - 15.2
and 16.8.,
,Tenders for the construction
of the Purdon, Anderson and
MacTavish drains were opened.
Two were received for the open
portion. and two for the tile
portions. .On a motion by
Councillors Foran and
,Aitchison, the tender of The
Robert Nicholson Construction
Company of Monkton, at
$3,880. for the open portion
was accepted. NO.definite action
was taken at this time on the tile
portions of any of the drains.
At this time the Clerk
presented a diploma to the Road
Superintendent, Harvey Culbert,
signifying his successful
completion of the "T. • J.
Mahony" Road School Course, a
three-year course, and also • his
outstanding completion of the
"C. S. Anderson" Road School
on surveying course.

rehire Norman McDonald and
Roy Hardy to plow snow for the
1969-70 season," carried.
Norman McDonald will be -paid
at the rate of $8 per hour, and
the township will pay - his
wingman. Roy Hardy's rate will
be $9.50 per hour, he is• to pay
his own wingman. Last year's
wingmeri are tobe rehired at the
'same rate.
On a motion by Councillors
Aitchison and McDonald,
council agreed to accept the bid
of Freeman Olson to supply "B"
gravel at a flat rate of 75c per
cu. yd.
The road accounts were
ordered paid on motion of
Councillors Foran and
Rutherford.
