Master Douglas Blaine, Woodham, nephew of the groom, was ringbearer. James Papple was best man and ushers were Frank McCowan and Glen McLachlan, brother of the groom. Miss Connie Rae of St. Paul's 'sang the "Wedding Hymn" and "On This Day," accompanied by Mrs. Hetherington. A reception was held at the Canadian Legion Mall, Seaforth. The bride's travelling costume was a 'nib green dtess and coat ensemble with black accessories. Goderich, was the setting for the wedding; at 7 p.m., August 3O, 1969, of Mary Helen Buchanan, • of Goderich, and John Robert McLachlan, of Bracebridge. The bride is the daughter of Mt. and Mrs. Donald Buchanasi, of Goderich. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert McLachlan, Kippen, Ontario. • Rev. Donald MacDonald officiated at the double -ring ceremony. Mrs. M. Hetherington presided at the organ.' Flowers at the altar were yellow and creamy -white mums, with fern and purple heather, set ,p in candelabra. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a floor -length gown fashioned from lagoda, with guipure lace outlining the empire look, and edging the high neckline and • elbow -length sleeves. The same lace edged the chapel train flowing from the waistline, and her shoulder -length veil was held by- a three-tier bow of the same lace. She carried yellow roses, accented with sprigs of heather and pale green ribbons. Mrs. James Papple, of Seaforth, was matron of honor. Given v in marriage by her brother, David, the bride wore a floor -length, A-line white crepe dress with shoulder -length veil. Her bouquet was stephanotis and ivy centered with a mauve orchid. The bridesmaids were Miss Janet Kniffen of Windsor and Miss Dian Watton—of Toronto. The double -ring ceremony was performed by Rev. P. T. Sherratt, uncle of the bride, Goderich: Ed Stiles presided at the organ --and -Joe Wedlock was the•soloist, .. -• In a• formal gown of white °chiffon featuring a, French lace bodice, long sleeves and a sheath skirt with a °flowing panel of chiffon from . the, neckline, the bride was escortedto the altar by her father. Her French illusion chapel veil was held with chiffon lily of the valley. She carried a cascade ' of mauve carnations and white roses. Miss Rita Sherratt, Goderich, was maid of honor in a formal -length gown of circular lace over pink taffeta with white accessories and a cascade of pink carnations and mauve daisies. At a reception in the Elm Haven Motor Hotel, Clinton, the bride's mother wore a blue and silver brocade dress with a rsage...o£...pink. sweetheart.xos She " was assisted 'by Mrs. Mallough who was gowned in aqua with matching accessories and a corsage of pink sweetheart roses. Fortravelling, the bride chose a pink swith white accessories. Following their , honeymoon, the couple will live in Holmesville. Junior . bridesmaids were Margaret Sherratt and Peggy , Sheardown, both of Goderich. They wore formal -length gowns of yellow taffeta with lace bodices, white 'accessories and cascades of- mauve daisies and yellow carnations: Rodger McKnight, Goderich, was best man. Ushers were John Burroughs and George Coulter, both of Goderi. The weddin breakfast was served in the church basement followed by a reception at the home of the bride's parents. Mrs. Sherratt made a gracious hostess in a navy two-piece suit, black accessories and a corsage of baby pink roses. Fbr travelling, the bride changed to a corded blue silk coat and dress ensemble, brown accessories and an orchid corsage. The three -tiered weddingcake was decorated with northern flowers and cut with a cake knife that has been used for three , generations. The bride's mother received the guests wearing a turquoise crepe , dress with matching petalled hat and a rose and white corsage. The bridegroom's mother wore a fuscia dress and matching net hat, with white, and yellow rose corsage. For travelling, the' bride wore a cranberry wool dress with matching hat and grey coat. The bride and groom will' reside at 291 St. George St., London.
