COMPANY GIRL GUIDES
The first' meeting of the
season was held at Si. Joseph's,
Parish Hall Thursday evening
with, 42 members present.
Captain Tigert -introduced the
new leader Lieutenant Mrs. Jim
Sinnett .and held' roll call and
inspection assisted by
Leiutenant Hayes.
The Guides formed a
horseshpe and reviewed their
promise and laws. A number
game was held by Lieutenant
Ilayes which the girls enjoyed.
Campfire was held by Captain
'1'igert. The girls sang songs and
closed with taps.
On ‘Saturday September 13
Captain Tigert and Lieutenant
Sinnett attended a training
course, on Map and . Compass
Instruction at Camp Glen Mac
near Seaforth.
BOY SCOUTS
The Boy Scouts will resume
their weekly meetings starting
to -night- Thursday, September
18, from 7 to 8:39 p.m. in the
parish hall.

Four year old Dana Doherty
made his T.V. debut on
CKNX-T.V. Tuesday when he
appeared as Deputy Ranger on
Cartoon House.
Mr. and Mrs. Michael Garvey
and boys, Clarkson spent the
weekend. at the Garvey
Homestead.

Annu�l Blyth horse show is held
The Blyt» Agricultural
Society's 5th annual horse show
Saturday night attracted 500 -
spectators at the arena.
Donald Young, secretary of
the society, said attendance was
down slightly from last year. He
said saddle . class entries
predominated, 20 compared to
10 in the Light and heavy horse
classes.
In the feature . event,
Beuerrnan of Monkton won the
musical chaixs and wiener race.
Douglas Ward of Monkton won
the pickup race. Winners in the
western saddle classes were Ross
Lenhardt of Bornholm and
Margaret Shobbrook of Blyth.
In the Palomino class, Miss
Shobbrook and Keith Moffatt of
Bluevale were the winners.
Winners in. the pony classes
and races -were Murray Edgar of
Belgrave, Theresa Dale of
Clinton And Johrl Koskamp of
Blyth.
In the four horse heavy hutch,
Eugene McLeod of Kincardine
won over four other entries. In
other heavy horse classes, top
winners were, Andrew Catto of
Port Elgin, Oliver Bannerman of
Monkton, Russell Teeple and
George Greg, both of Paisley.
Melvin Randall of Glanworth
was winner in the under 44 inch
pony class.
