material. "The value is in the
location. The value is what the
property fronts on -=- the lake —
and therefore very valuable. The
frontage is the key," he said..
"This is not a refusal. We are
only asking to be left as we are
and to be protected. We are only
interested in peace and quiet. We
don't like., the anxiety; an
uncomfortable atmosphere has
developed because of this and
we suggest it would Save the
town time and money if the
sewer• was angled. slightly onto
the town property. I say this as a
layman; It has always surprise&
me that an outlet would be put
preside an intake (referring to the
water treatment plant below the
property). ,Britannia road has
already been used for , the
.purpose, why not use it again?
"By just going at a slight
angle after it crosses Hibernia
Terrace Might do it. Or perhaps
council could close Hibernia,
we'll buy it and,;the money can
be used to re-route the sewer."
Mr. Robarts also suggested 99
feet was a lot of land to house a
sewer and suggested the sewer
could be located strictly on the
town owned property. without
interfering with the Robarts land
at all.
Dr.' G. F. Mills, mayor,
informed Mr. Robarts the town

area have been flooded on

Mr. Robarts said his family
did not -want to stand in the way
of progress but merely suggested
there .could be an alternative
route for the sewer.
Dr. Mills said the engineers
had said this was the route that
must be taken. He asked Mr.
Rdbarts that if it should be that
the proposed route was the,best
one, would he be willing to sell.
Mr. Robarts said he would
have liked to stall the answer to
that question but added "...if we
don't sell I suppose it will mean
expropriation. I don't want to
see this thing dragged out for
years — the individual against
the state. You all know what
lake front property is worth.
Ninety-nine feet is out of the
question."
Dr. Mills asked if Mr. Robarts.
would be willing to meet with
the engineering consultants, B.
M. Ross and associates.
."Engineers can get me all tied
up," he replied. "I would rather
have a reasonable approach by
businessmen," but he agreed to
